Whoppers Cupcakes {Perfect for Easter!}

 

Here is a fun recipe for Easter or for parties this year.

My littlest daughter absolutely loves Whoppers candy – it is always her first choice when we hit the candy aisle.

I thought it would be fun to do a Whoppers cupcake for my sweet girl- which she absolutely loved.

You can use any variety of Whoppers but I chose these pretty Easter Robin Egg Whoppers.    So fun when you are looking for an alternative to coconut cakes and lemon tarts on Easter.

Here is the recipe:

Whoppers cupcake recipe- so festive for Easter!
Ingredients
  • Cupcake Batter:
  • 1½ Cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Malted Milk Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • ½ Cup Vegetable or Canola Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • Frosting:
  • 2¾ Powdered Sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 6 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • ⅓ Cup Whipping Cream (or Milk)
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 10-20 Easter Egg Whoppers Candy
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Line the muffin tin with cupcake liners
  2. or grease well.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, malted milk powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder together. Set aside.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, whisk the milk, oil, vanilla
  5. extract and egg until smooth.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until
  7. smooth.
  8. Fill the muffin tins to the halfway mark.
  9. Bake for 15-17 minutes (depends on your oven) until a toothpick
  10. comes out clean when inserted into the middle.
  11. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  12. For the frosting:
  13. In a medium bowl, sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa.
  14. Set aside.
  15. In a large bowl or mixer, cream the butter until smooth.
  16. Slowly add in the sugar mixture.
  17. Once combined, add in the whipping cream followed by the vanilla.
  18. Combine until light and fluffy.
  19. Once the cupcakes are cooled, top them with crushed Easter Egg Whoppers Candy.
