**The offer has now expired.
Starbucks has a promotion right now for the first 100,000 people that use their Visa to checkout.. You can purchase a $10 eGift card and get a bonus $10 on your card. So $20 total!
The catch is you have to send the card to someone else and cannot send it to yourself. ( I sent it to my husband when I tested it out) Please note the extra $10 will not be reflected when you checkout but will be on your receipt that is emailed to you.
I just tested this myself and my receipt came instantly and reflected the $20 amount. I would not wait! As of posting, their website says the the offer is still available.
Jess says
I successfully sent it to myself at a secondary email address and was able to then add it to my existing starbucks card. Took several minutes for the gc email to arrive.
Charlene says
Yeah so glad!

I’m cracking up reading your Facebook page where this was posted. It looks like people don’t read the entire post!! Shame on them!! ha ha
Thanks so much for the tip!
Charlene says
LOL- Liz. Facebook is wonderful and frustrating all in one. At least they are clicking over. Half the time they won’t do that and then there is really no point to having a Facebook page at all if people refuse to actually click through to the blog 😉
ricky says
how many times can you send to different emails
Liz says
You have a lot more patience than I do!!!
Charlene says
Ricky- my understanding is that the limit is 1 per person.
Sarah H. says
I just received the egift email and it says that the value is $10? Why didn’t I get the bonus $10?
Nicole Walker says
Thanks Charlene!! I sent one to my friend and she sent one back to me 🙂
Caroline canipe says
Can you use the e gift card to purchase gift cards?
Charlene says
Oh fun! Good for you Nicole.
Charlene says
Hi Sarah- that was your confirmation email and the top didn’t say bonus $10? Did you pay with Visa?
Charlene says
Hi Caroline- I don’t see anything in the fine print. You can transfer the balance to a registered gift card and I think I have tried to use my registered gift card to buy additional gift cards and for some reason I want to say I could not do it.
I think you’d have to test it to be totally certain.
Caroline says
Can you use the egiftcard to purchase gift cards in the store instead of coffee? I am thinking teacher gifts:)
Kathy says
I was able to take the egift card into the store and get an actual gift card. I had the same idea Caroline for a teacher gift
Jill F says
I truly cannot believe this offer is still active this late in the day. The site was a little slow but worked like a charm. Thank you Charlene!
Charlene says
It is! Oh good :). I think a ton of people ordered by didn’t use a Visa so that probably let it last longer.
Brittany says
I did as someone mentioned above and sent it to an alternate email of mine. I got the receipt email at my primary email address as well as a “we thought you would like to know that your egift has been delivered” email, but still have not received the egift at the email I had it sent to. Did it take a while for it to show up for anyone? I know I put the correct email in.
Oxana says
Just received the egift email and it says that the value is $10? Why didn’t I get the bonus $10? It’s was purchased with Visa card!
Charlene says
Oxana- this was posted first thing this morning and it said limit of 100,000. There is a chance you ordered after it expired. What did your confirmation email say?
Charlene says
Brittany- it sounds like the ones later in the day were taking 2-5 hours. I know the gift card isn’t instant because the demand was very high. They need a little time to process.
Charlene says
I just checked the web site and it says the offer expired. Did you order when it said the offer was live? If so just get in touch with Starbucks customer service and I am sure they can help you.
Themis Toache says
For all of you who actually made this deal purchase, please check your card statements!!… They charged me $45 TWICE, instead of just the $10 for the gift card!
Charlene says
Hi Themis, I understand you are upset but I did not have that issue and I did this transaction. It was through Starbucks – so you can be assured they will correct the problem for you. Something obviously went wrong and I am sure they will fix it- just get in touch with Starbucks. Maybe you pushed checkout a few times or refreshed or screen or they just made an error on their end. Sometimes that happens 🙂
Themis Toache says
Hi Charlene,
I know it wasn’t you :D, I’m just trying to warn people, just in case it happened to anyone else. It never hurts to double check your card statement.
