Here is something nifty that my fellow mason jar lovers might like. Ball is making these new plastic storage caps for mason jars! Oh the excitement!
Those of you that use your jars frequently probably know the lids can get rusty and leave a yucky residue if left for awhile in the fridge- so BOOM! problem solved with these little lovelies. Plus so much easier to wash then the regular lids.
You can pick up a box of 8 lids that will fit a wide mouth jar for $3.99. Or if you prefer standard pint size jars- check out the 8pk of lids for $2.99 here. Use them over and over and they will pay for themselves.
Seems like Kmart is the cheapest place to get these but if you don’t want to drive around- head over to Amazon to take a look for a few dollars more. There are over 1200 reviews and all of them are excellent.

These have been around a long time. I have been using them in my kitchen and I love them. I bought a 4 pack at Fred Meyer for about $4 a couple years ago.

These are awesome! Walmart also makes them in their store brand, and they’re quite a bit cheaper.
Btw…my Target has cute mason jar kids in the dollar spot.

Laura- I will look for those in the Dollar Spot! Often those kinds of things aren’t BPA free and they are made in China… Did you happen to notice?
Charlene says
Really? Well they are new to me :). Sounds like $7 for 8 lids is a reasonable price then.

I buy them at kmart for 2.99 and 3.99 (regular and wide mouth), and I’m guessing walmart is just as cheap. Big price difference!

They also make them for wide-mouth jars, which I’ve bought for as low as $3.59 for a box of eight lids. Right now, Kmart.com has a pack of eight regular-mouth lids for $2.99 and a pack of eight wide-mouth lids for $3.99 — with free in-store pick-up if you don’t want to pay for shipping!
Like Cali, I’ve been using them for years and they’ve held up great. Just in case anyone was curious about their durability. 🙂

Awesome- updated!
