There is a nice sale at Audible.com right now. They are offering the top 100 books as low as $.99 each! Plus if you are new, you can get a free audio book download. It’s a great time to register and get a free book and then take advantage of the sale.
Just choose the book and download it right onto the free app on your phone. And then listen to the book of your choice.
This is really the only way I can find time to read. I listen while I am running, walking the dog, cleaning, cooking etc.
One highlight that is absolutely worth grabbing is Eat That Frog– it is a great book for productivity and organizing your schedule.

Another good one I’m reading is The Hundred Foot Journey. I actually liked the movie better but the book is still very good and a great read for Labor Day weekend. If you have a chance to see the movie- it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. If you liked The Help you will love this one too! The price on this book is only $2.95!! What a steal!
This is a great subscription service and I personally love it. After your free 30 day trial, the membership will begin at $14.95 depending on what plan you select. With the $14.95 plan, you will receive one credit every month, good for any audiobook on Audible.
You can cancel anytime, effective the next monthly billing cycle. Cancel before your trial ends and you will not be charged.
Head over here to get started.
Oh and if you ever find a book you don’t love– well you can return it and get another one you do like. No questions asked- no big hassle.

One thing to note, though, is that there is a pricing issue with Audible.com. I recently wanted a recording on iTunes that was $14.95. I checked Audible because I had a membership. The identical recording was listed as “member price” of $14.95. So basically, by buying from Audible, I would pay the same price as iTunes, BUT I would also have to pay for the monthly membership fee.
Hi Courtney– no the membership fee gets you books. So $14.95 would get you one credit for a book. I pay something like $30 for 3 books which makes them $10 each. It doesn’t matter what the price is listed at on audible- if I have credits the book is free. So in your case, the $15 monthly fee would be the only timing you’d pay. If say you used your credit for the month and wanted another book, the price would be what is listed for that second book.
Hope that helps!
What I mean is that one of the membership benefits, aside from the 1 book credit, is a “member discount” of 30% off the regular price on all other audible titles. So what I found is that there is effectively no discount if the regular price on iTunes is the same as the “member discount” price on Audible. I can just as easily buy the same book on iTunes without getting a membership. This is an issue if you want more than the 1 book a month (the one they give you). I understand what you’re saying, my concern is just Audible representing that they are giving people a “member discount” on books (for customers buy not using the credit), when there is no discount if it’s the same price as regular price on iTunes.
Hm… sorry Courtney but again that hasn’t been my experience. I get 2 books a month for $22.95 or about $11 per book. If I want extra books I buy 3 extra credits for $34 or $11 per book. So I pay $11 per book. That is a better deal for me then iTunes. I checked the last 4 books I read on iTunes and I would have paid:
Little Big Lies $23.95
Silkworm $23.95
One plus One $23.95
The Boys in the Boat $25.95
So that is a huge increase in price- I paid $11 per book instead of $23.
For Audible if you do not want to buy credits (and I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t because you pay almost double)- the price is $19 for these books. So it is still something like 25% off the price of iTunes.
