Did you go on vacation this year with the little ones? We have done a few little trips and we are getting ready for an end of summer weekend at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios in Florida with Mom It Forward. Whoot!
We are so excited for this little vacation and it got me thinking about special ways to savor the memories once the vacation is over- beyond just the standard photo book.
Here are five fun ideas I found to create something fun as a family to capture all those important memories:

I love this idea to use a map from your travels as the background for a photo. Brochures or playbills would also work!

Create a scrapbook to save all the tickets, postcards etc… from the trip as well as memories you jot down and photos. Great way to keep the kid’s busy on the plane home!
Memory Jars are perfect as well. Add some sand and any little shells or rocks you collect from the beach- or add ticket stubs, hotel stationery etc… Moore Minutes has a very cute post with detailed instructions.

Send postcards from your trip home during your vacation. They will be a surprise for the kids when you get back. Put these in a scrapbook or hole punch and add them to a ring for a little flip book. You can jot down memories on the back of the cards or alternate with photos.

I absolutely love this idea- use postcards, photos or other trip memorabilia to create a tray of memories. Practical, easy to do and lovely!
I’d love to hear your tips to capture those memories as well!

I love all of these ideas. Also, your post reminds me that I finally need to get to that DIY map picture frame. I’ve been wanting to make one for a long time. It’d be fun to do that from this trip.
Great ideas!
