Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
The summer reading program runs through July 17th. Children who read 8 books from their recommended list will receive a free book.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will make a Learn to Count Ladybug on June 7th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
They also will have a Summer Learning Event on June 7th from 11am to 3pm. Kids can build Buggy Goggles.
Michaels: Rainbow Loom Meet Up. Ages 6+ and the cost is $5 per child. Times and Dates vary. Contact your store for local times.
They also have a Kid’s Club with various events. Check your local store for details as this does vary.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities.
The theme this week is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They will have a 45th anniversary celebration on June 3rd and 4th at 11:00am. Confirm times with your store.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
Kids Bowl Free: Just register and get 2 free games everyday in summer!
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.

Lego Store: Free lego build on June 3rd. Your kids will build a Lego Jet Ski. The event starts at 5pm and is limited to kids age 6-14. You can find your local store here.
Quantities are limited so it is best to get there early!
Home Depot: Kid’s Workshop on June 7th at 9am. Your kids will build a riding lawn mower.
It does look like they prefer you register for the Home Depot Kid Clinics now so you’ll want to head on over here to do that.
Williams-Sonoma: Junior Chef Class on June 7th at 9:30 am. The theme this week will be Summer Sides That You Can Make. Suitable for ages 8-12.
