Update: It looks like they extended the offer for one more day! See if you get lucky!
For one day only, get the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read Classroom Edition App for free. This is a $50 value so a huge savings!
You might grab this for over summer break. The app looks like it would be great to reinforce classroom learning and help those that also may need a little extra help.
Here is a little about the app:
This Classroom Edition is unlocked and contains teacher instructions and teacher controls. To sample the app, we recommend that you download the free, non-Classroom edition which includes a free unit and eBook.
Foundational Reading Skills for Kindergarten including:
• Print concepts
• Phonological awareness
• Phonics word recognitionSuitable for single- or multiple-users, students can easily, independently navigate this app. Each 10-minute phonics lesson concludes with three corresponding eBooks, where students apply the phonemes, rimes and sight words they have learned in the context of a meaningful story. The program works effectively whether used daily or sporadically throughout the week. Students are able to repeat previous lessons for additional practice if needed, or move on to new lessons as appropriate.
Please note this is for iPhone or Ipad users.
Head over here to get the free Hooked on Phonics App. This is available 5/6 only.

I tried to download this at 9:50pm and it was reflecting a charge of $49.99 Is there a code?
Charlene says
Josie- 9:50pm PST is after midnight EST and I am guessing iTunes runs on EST. It was a one day sale so I am thinking they consider it 5/7 now and the prices probably changed.
Josie Valadez says
Charlene- thank you! I didn’t know the iTunes Store ran on EST! Thank you again. 🙂
Charlene says
Yup no problem. I don’t see this happen very often but sometimes with photo deals and such I have been bummed to find they ended EST. It is a shame because 9pm is usually when I can finally sit down and do my shopping and blog reading and such 🙂

Thank you for posting this! I was able to download it for my daughter and notify a few of my other friends with preschoolers who downloaded it before it expired.
Katie says

I tried this last night at 10pm CST and it did not work, figured they ran on EST. But my sister just told me this morning that it is showing up as FREE again today. I do not have my iPad with me since I’m at work so cannot confirm myself, but hope I can get to it when I get off.
Charlene says
You are awesome Vanessa! I see it as free as well 🙂
Charlene says
Hey Katie– try again because it is showing as free for me right now 🙂
Josie says
That’s great news! I’m in Los Angeles at work, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed until I get home tonight. Thanks again everyone!
