I posted the Target price match policy and wanted to also mention what Walmart’s policy will be this year.
Walmart will match a local competitors printed ad for an identical item through December 24th. Just bring in your receipt and the competitor’s current printed ad. They will give you a Walmart gift card for the difference.
And this also applies if you find the lower price later!
This does exclude Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday ads, internet pricing and gift card offers.
You can read all the exclusions here as well as see the entire Christmas Ad Match Policy.
Apparently Walmart will be honoring the regular ad match policy on Black Friday- so if you want to bring another ad into Walmart and price match you can for an identical item. They will not refund you with a gift card though if you find an item listed cheaper in a Black Friday ad- so that is the slight difference.

Common sense ? I guess this is a trait I am not blessed with, then again I don’t have the largest company in the world.
I just had a lesson in Wal Mart policy.
Purchased a sound bar at local Wal Mart, after the fact I found it on WalMart.com/ It was just a little less expensive, $20. So I thought I would just take my receipt in the next visit to this WalMart and ask for the $20 in price difference.
And now…….my education in how to operate a multi-billion dollar business.
“No we can’t refund $20 dollars to you. You have to return the item, then you order on-line, but you don’t have to pay shipping, we will call you when it arrives and you save $20.” Okay, that makes all the sense in the world. Maybe someone can enlighten me on how this is cost effective. They ship a carton of 10 units to the store versus breaking down a carton at another location and shipping that same one item to the same store.
Next, the service department told me that they do not match their own on-line store. They won’t even match their own brick and mortar store across town, because that store may have 50 units of an item and this store may have only 25 units. BUT, they will match a competitors price, if, it matches everything exactly and other issues about the price at the other store.
To that end, it follows wisdom provided me years ago by a client of mine when starting my own business. Remember “The Golden Rule”…………… “He Who Has The Gold, Makes The Rules”
In closing, my education level does not approach that of WalMart upper management. So I guess I need to start wearing a tie, so it will cut off the oxygen going to my brain.
Thanks for listening from another small town held hostage by “we’re the only game in town (because we killed everybody else in town by low cutting their prices/business)” So tough you can’t go anywhere else!
Thanks for your time
