Oh goodness ya’ll- it is November 1st which means it is time for the sales to get crazy.
This year retailers are starting things off early with some nice coupons and sales. Stay tuned because I will be posting a few articles with tips to help you understand how to find the best deals and tips for saving money this holiday season. I am also hard at work on all the Black Friday ads. Some have already been released and we should see a bunch more come out the first week of November. If you can check in this weekend I will be posting many of the ads for you.
In general November is a great month to shop. We will obviously start off with Halloween clearance sales- you might have candy everywhere at the moment but it doesn’t hurt to think ahead to Christmas and any baking you might be doing or candy for stockings.
I like to try and score deals on lollipops specifically so I can use those in Operation Christmas Child boxes.
This month is a great time to make note of your baking needs- we will see fantastic prices on canned pumpkin, sugar, chocolate chips, frosting etc.. etc…
We will also see great prices on hot drinks and soups for the cold weather. Canned food items tend to be very inexpensive- canned beans, veggies etc…
Lots of Thanksgiving and holiday items go on sale- stuffing, gravy, turkeys, potatoes and all that stuff you need for Thanksgiving dinner. This is a good time to grab a little extra for your Christmas dinner as well. I like to grab smaller turkeys when they hit a good sale price because they actually cook really well in the crock pot and can be a quick dinner idea or cook one up and have lovely lunchmeat all prepped.
Produce in season- pomegranates, kiwi, lemon, sweet potato, pears, pumpkin, spinach, kale and more.

Oh and as for next month, well we will keep seeing the holiday madness right up until the last minute for Christmas. Champagne will be on sale as well as wines and sparkling ciders for the kiddos.
Holiday decorations, home items (to spruce things up for the holidays like towels, pillows, throw blankets etc..) and remember you do want to think ahead for winter clothing in Nov and Dec. In my area we usually don’t need winter stuff until January and it is often gone as stores bring in the spring items.
Just a reminder that here is a little Thanksgiving and Christmas printable planner for you to use to start getting organized!
