Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I know some of you might be out of school already so I thought a list at the start of the week would be helpful to plan your schedule.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Pottery Barn Kids: National Geographic Little Explorers June 8th at 10 am. Kids will learn about the ocean and its marine dwellers through hands on activities and more. This is a free event.
Also, every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
Lakeshore Learning: Under the Sea Porthole Craft from 11 am to 3 pm June 8th. Kids make a porthole to frame an awesome ocean scene filled with stunning sea life. (Note: we went last Saturday and the staff at our store said that this coming weekend is going to be a lot of fun with sand toys and water toys out in addition to the craft.)
Lego Store: Free Lego Build Event on June 4th. Kids will build a Lego fisherman. The events starts at 5pm and are limited to kids age 6-14. You can find your local store here. Quantities are limited to approximately 250 per store for the Fisherman build – so it is best to get there early!
Michaels: Kid’s can make a Father’s Day Card June 8th. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop. Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join.
Home Depot: Kid’s can come out and do a “surprise” Despicable Me 2 craft on July 6th. I know that this is not until next month but I wanted to ahead and mention it so that you could mark your calendars. This is a free workshop designed for children ages 5 – 12 between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. All kids also receive a free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
Lowes: Build and Grow Clinic June 8th at 10AM and June 9th at 2PM. At this clinic your kids will build Monsters University Mike and Sulley Scarers! You can register here for this free event. It is best to sign up for these right away because they do fill up really fast.
Barnes and Nobles: June 8th at 11 am is storytime with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. These events are free. There is also a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday each week. You should check your store because dates and times might vary.
Regal Cinemas: Children’s movies every Tuesday and Wednesday for just $1.00 per person at 10 am. This does tend to be pretty popular in my area so be sure to get there early.
