With kids getting out of school in the next week or so I’m sure you’re looking for lots of ways to keep them busy, but their minds active too!
Well, here’s another idea for you! Pottery Barn Kids has put out their list of books for their Summer Reading Challenge! I mentioned this before but the actual book list was not available. I did just pick this list up in store so here it is.
There are two lists to read from – the first one is the Pottery Barn Kids Favorites and it includes the following books:
- Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet
- Llama Llama Red Pajama
- Olivia and the Fairy Princesses
- What Brothers/Sisters Do Best
- Madeline
- The Very Hungry Catepillar
- Curious George
- How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You?
- The Giving Tree
- The Rainbow Fish
- The Very Fairy Princess
- You Think It’s Easy Being the Tooth Fairy?
- Miss Lina’s Ballerinas
- A Pirate’s Guide to First Grade
And the second list is the Pottery Barn Kids Early Readers Favorites. That list includes:
- Fancy Nancy: Bonjour, Butterfly
- Llama Llama Wakey-Wake
- Olivia
- Shake It Up Baby!
- Madeline
- The Very Hungry Catepillar’s Finger Puppet Book
- Curious George Counting
- How Do Dinosaurs Count to Ten?
- Barnyard Dance!
- In My Ocean
- Princess Baby
- Toes, Ears & Nose!
- Twinkle Toes
- Little Shark: Finger Puppet Book
Pottery Barn Kids will give your kiddos a free gift if they complete one of the reading lists. You can redeem the free gift before August 31st, but this is only while supplies last. If I understand this correctly, you can read these on your own or you can go to the free storytime once per week and they will be reading these books.
If you are going by a Pottery Barn Kids store you can pick up a free little bookmark with these books listed and a free little poster that has books on it. Your child can color in a book after they finish one from this list.
And don’t forget about the long list of other free reading programs going on this summer!

Thank you for the list. I’ve been searching their website and haven’t found the list posted. I appreciate saving a trip to their store until it becomes more convenient. Thank you!

Ditto, Janis! My thoughts exactly! I’ve been searching, too, since it’s not that convenient to get to their store. Thanks so much for the list!
