The promotion is still available but the giveaway has now closed. The winner was Julie!
I have a new Silhouette promotional code available to use through April 26th. This code is to get one of the two machines plus some premium vinyl for a great bundle price.
You can choose from the Portrait machine plus (2) rolls of premium vinyl and a roll of transfer tape for $139.99 OR get the larger Cameo plus (2) rolls of premium vinyl and transfer tape for $269.99.
This would be a great Mother’s Day item if you have a Mom that is crafty or loves to be super organized.
These machines will do paper crafts (like cards, signs, scrapbooks), heat transfers (so custom tote bags, pillows, shirts), rhinestones (for shirts etc..)
My favorite thing is the vinyl because I can label all sorts of things like jars, benches, storage tubs and more…
Here is my latest project with the premium vinyl. I just redid and organized the laundry room and I haven’t found any art that I really love for that space. I decided to just whip together a quick little something to put up on the wall in the meantime.
The wall I was thinking about is the first thing you see when you walk in the garage door so I wanted something cheerful.

So I just used an old Ikea frame that was in a closet and created a little image and quote. I cut it out on my Cameo machine and adhered to the frame. Now I have a simple piece of artwork to hang up and the best part is that I can change it up at any time.
That vinyl just peels right off!
So maybe this little sign will remind us all to put a smile on our faces when we walk through the door!

So if you want to order a Silhouette of your own, just head over here and you want to pick which bundle you like. Then use coupon code FRUGAL at checkout.
Just as a point of reference, the Silhouette Portrait machine alone is currently $199 from Silhouette or $175 from Amazon. The Cameo is currently $299 from Silhouette and $269 for a starter bundle on Amazon.
The premium vinyl typically sells for about $15 a roll and you will get 2 rolls with your order.

AND if you want to win one of these awesome little machines of your very own- here is your chance!

Where is the link to purchase through your site…? Is it through Silhouette?
Kat,
Sorry I forgot to add the link in but it is there now.
It is just a special page Silhouette sets up for promotions- http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/april
It won’t let me check a box for the bonus entry, but I follow you on Facebook!
I am so excited for this giveaway! I have wanted one forever 🙂
Which would you recommend for someone who wants to start but thinks they will use it a lot? What is the main difference from the cameo and portrait?
I follow on FB and subscribe via email.
The cameo is bigger so you can cut larger things. The Cameo cuts 12×12 and the Portrait is 8×12. So depending on the size of the things you want to make that is the major difference. If you plan to use it a lot I would say just get the Cameo. I think the Portrait is a great option for those that want something small and compact for projects here and there.
Some things to consider though is that you will have additional expenses. You pay for images- so the hummingbird image I used was $.99 to buy. Also I wanted a different font but the fonts are $2.99 to pay for if you want fancy ones. Also the vinyl can be a little expensive although Amazon has really great prices right now…
Not at all talking you out of it just saying that if the Cameo is a budget buster you might not be able to do everything you dream of because you still have a few little expenses here and there for materials too 🙂
I have a Cameo that I paid about $269 ish for and I love it.
Oh and here are some comparisons:

I also Googled your question and found a bunch of scrapbook web sites and such having the same discussion and the concensus seemed to be the Cameo for those that will use it frequently.
Thank you for the update! This would be really awesome to have…I’ve been researching on both Silhouette and Cricut, and it seems like a lot better deal to have the Silhouette simply because I don’t have to buy the cartridges that Cricut requires.
Can you use images of your own on the Silhouette? My friend is interested in making Chinese Shadow Puppets and would like something to speed some of the more intricate cutting designs along.
This would be great. I love the idea that I could cut fonts from my collection! Have a good weekend!
