I finished the Valentine’s for my big girl this weekend and I thought I’d post what we are doing this year.
I wanted something candy free and I also wanted something that she would love since she is a big 5 years old now. I was looking at all sorts of things at Walmart and Target and finally stumbled on this set of 12 lip glosses for $2.97 at Walmart.
I found these in the party favor section and I thought my little girl would love them. Usually she just gets plain lip balms so this is something a little special. Some of her friends are 6 and 7 years old so I also thought this would work for the older girls.
I made up a little tag and bought some ribbon and it didn’t take long at all to put them together. We usually make our Valentine’s each year and last year the ones I choose really took ages- so this year I wanted something simple.
She signed her name to the back and they are ready to go!
Here is what the price breakdown was:
2 pages of color copies at Staples $.59 each (the Valentine’s Day hearts are 6 per page)
1 package of lip glosses $2.97
Ribbon $.99 with a coupon at Hobby Lobby
Total $5.14 for 12 Valentine’s or $.42 each
So these aren’t the cheapest but they are cute and more importantly the girls in her class will love these.
With any pages that are full of color I usually order them to be printed online from Staples. I can pick them up in store in about 30 minutes and I don’t have to drain my own ink cartridges.
I did different Valentine’s for the little boys in her class. She is in K-1 so I figured you can never go wrong with Legos. I will post how the Lego Valentine’s turned out soon so stay tuned!
In the meantime, if you want to download the little page of heart Valentine tags, you can get the free printable here.
