I need to have the children’s costumes ready by next week for an event and I have been scrambling to come up with something for my littlest. She wanted to be a Princess or a Fairy or something along those lines.
In our area it is still pretty warm on Halloween so I needed something lightweight. I also know from experience the children won’t wear masks or heavy things on their heads or even hats.
So I wanted to mention the costume I put together for Maya because it was really inexpensive and I think it looks great. You can’t really tell from the photo but the wings and the tutu have a lot of glitter and sparkle to them.
Joann’s Crafts has 60% off select Halloween accessories.
I got the following from Joann’s:
Tutu $7.99
Fairy Wings $3.99
Headband $1.99
Wand $1.99The total was $15.96
I used a pair of yellow leggings we already had (Old Navy- $5) and borrowed a pink tank from big sister.
Simple, light weight and hopefully she keeps it on for Halloween! Maya was overjoyed when I brought this home. I actually had to hide it because she and her sister wouldn’t stop playing with the outfit. They will for sure use this for dress up time after Halloween.
I actually think these prices are so good, you might even consider some of these items for any Fairy themed birthday parties. There is a new Tinkerbell movie coming out right before Halloween too so the timing is perfect.
My store also had little angel costumes, bumblebees, ladybugs and witches that were similar – tutus and head pieces and wings- so there are other options.
You can shop online and get most of the items I mentioned at the same prices.
One other thing I grabbed was a glitter tattoo kit for $14. We usually pay $7-10 each for little face painting at festivals and such so this is a great deal. Maya will get a pretty design on her face for Halloween and there are 70 different tattoos in this kit- so we will easily get our money’s worth.
If you want to shop online, you can use coupon code FSF287 for free shipping on a $50 order and coupon code: EDF287 for 50% off a regular priced item.
