And if you are looking for more books, here are a few I have heard recently that I thought were really good. These are not free books:
War Brides by Helen Bryan– this is a really compelling book about 5 women living in England during WWII. I have read lots of books about WWII but never from the perspective on English civilians. This started a little slow and then I had a hard time putting it down.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn- holy cow this is a creepy story! This has been a best seller for awhile now and if you are a Law and Order fan, you might like this. It is a very dramatic story about the apparent kidnapping and murder of a young woman and it is full of twists and turns. I didn’t find it to be gory but it is dark.
Bossypants by Tina Fey- my friend Andrea highly recommended this one so I picked it up. It is pretty funny and had me laughing out loud.
Where We Belong by Emily Giffin– this is the writer that did the books Something Borrowed and Something Blue. Those were made into a movie so some of you might know her already. I loved this book. It is fairly light reading and I probably finished it in about 4 days. The story of a highly successful New Yorker who gave up her baby for adoption. 18 years later the little girl she gave up is knocking on her door and the story unfolds from there.
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom– this is the story of an Irish immigrant that is brought as a servant to live on a plantation in the south. The same story is told from the perspective of a slave and this immigrant that is an indentured servant.

I loved the kitchen house, and I’m excited to ready Emily Giffins new book. I just finished Sentence of Marriage by Shayne Parkinson. It was a great book. Its a series of 4 but the first one is free in the kindle store and the other 3 are only 2.99.

Holly- I loved that book too! I could not put it down. Emily was perfect because I listened to that one while I was painting the laundry room and it made a tedious project go by much faster :). I’ll check out the series you suggested!

I just finished War Brides today. I was sad it was over!

Me too. She sort of left it hanging when she switched to 1995. I was really rooting for Frances and Oliver so I wanted to see more of that. Those ladies in the end kind of horrified me and kind of made me laugh :). It was so obvious about Hugo I can’t see how that never came to light….

Yes I felt like it was a little sloppily wrapped up and I wish she would have given us a little more war era but still it was enjoyable!!
