Well it is FINALLY that time again! Time for Back to School clearance sales to start coming our way.
Now before you get too excited, I just want to say in my experience a lot of the supplies are already gone at many stores. I know my Target has very little inventory left.
But having said that, there are still some great deals to pick up during these sales. My store is starting very slow and just had lunchboxes and thermos items on clearance for 30% off. There were only a few actual supplies on clearance- pencil erasers was about it.
I did speak to someone about when more items would go on clearance. I was told mid-week they would probably add more items.
I checked back on prior posts and in 2010 and 2011, Target marked Back to School items down on a Thursday (25th and 26th of August).
So there is a good chance this Thursday, 30th might be the day.
Each store will have a different schedule and some of you might have stores that started marking things down last week. This is just a quick reminder that you might want to keep an eye out for this sale and see if you find something good.
I know last year I got quite a few notebooks for a few cents and those of you that are interested in coupon binders, now is a great time to keep an eye out for a great binder.

what do you mean this Thursday? down to 70% off?

No Hally I didn’t say they would be 70% off on Thursday. The stores are just starting clearance- as I mentioned they haven’t even started marking down the actual supplies yet in my store. Most likely they will start with 30% off, move to 50% off and finally 70% off. Each store will be a little different depending on the space they have and how much inventory. They will want the school supply area to start building Halloween displays over Labor Day weekend so there is a chance some stores might jump to 70% off quickly but my guess is that would be next week.
With supplies if you wait until 70% off a lot of stuff will probably be gone. In our area, my youngest hasn’t even started school yet so a lot of people are still shopping for supplies.
