This week there is a pretty nice deal on Nivea items at Target.
Now this might not work for everyone but if you are interested, I strongly suggest shopping as soon as you can.
The weekly ad shows (3) Nivea lotions at $5.99 and get a $5 gift card back.
When I went to my store today, there were actually lots more items that make this a really great deal.
I purchased a Nivea lotion priced at $4.22
and I purchased (2) tins of lotion at $.87 each
Subtotal $5.96
Now I hadn’t planned to buy Nivea today so I only had the $1 Nivea coupon from the Target Beauty Bag samples.
So I paid $4.96 and got back a $5 gift card!
If you have other coupons the deal could be even better!
So really the trick here is to buy 1 item and use the travel size tins priced at $.87 as the other 2 items you need for the gift card and you should be able to get your products for free or maybe even better then free!
If you do not see signs up, you can always just test the items you want by taking them to the cash register. Just tell the cashier you want to see if they trigger a gift card and watch as they scan the items you select. Once the third item is scanned, the gift card will automatically pop up on the screen.
That is before you pay and before you hand over any coupons. If the gift card does not pop up, you can just say no thank you and go on your way.
Here are some other products and coupons:
Nivea Lip Balm $2.49
Nivea Body Cream $3.99
Nivea Lotions $4.22- starting price
Nivea Skin Firming Lotion $6.99
Use $3/1 Skin Firming from 4/29 RP
or Use $1/1 Nivea from 5/6 RP
or use $2/1 from 4/29 RP
and if you have the Target beauty bag coupons there are more Nivea coupons inside that
You can try just buying (3) of the tins priced at $.87 and see if that works. Reader Alani said that worked fine for her but sometimes the Target gift cards won’t trigger if the subtotal isn’t above $5. I did try it and it DID NOT work for me with 3 of the tins.
To be on the safe side, it is better to just hit $5 or more as a subtotal and then the gift card should work.
If you try this, let us know how it goes for you! Remember they will likely sell out of those tins early or they can always remove them from the promotion so it really is a good idea to shop early.
***One last note: I would suggest scanning the items to check the price before you buy. These were not marked properly at my store- the lotion I bought was marked at $4.79 but rang up at $4.22.

I LOVE those little tins! Do you think I can buy 6 of the tins for 5.22? Will that still trigger the gc since it’s over $5? TIA!
Charlene says
Jessica, I am not sure. It should actually be 2 gift cards. If your store has signs on the tins you can just argue your case. I did try the 3 tins myself and it didn’t work. The transaction in the post did work.
Jessica says
If the signs are up, I might just fight it. I hate fighting, but the tins are all I want. I put them in my purse and they are also great for travel. Thanks for this post! 🙂

I tried a full size lotion priced @ $4.22 and 2 tins @ $.90 and it did not work for me.
Charlene says
Boo! Maybe it got fixed by now. Did you see signs or were there no signs up?

Thanks for the tip! I just came back from Target and my store had the sign up on the tins. Although the gift card did not pop up on the register, the manager still honored it and gave me two $5 gift cards!! Woo Hoo!

I just tried it with 2 tins and a hand cream that was 3.59 and it worked no problem.
Shannon says
I was bummed! There was no sign on the tins just on the larger lotions.
Jessica says
Shannon,
Same here. None of my stores had signs under the tins.

I just got back from Target. The register did not trigger a gift card after 3 tins, but there were signs posted under them. I asked if the manager could go take a look and sure enough, after seeing the signs, she just manually entered the gift cards for me. Hope you all have the same luck! I would get out there as soon as possible though before they remove the signs!

I went in this morning and there were signs under the tins. I went back during ym lunch hour to pick up some more, and the signs under the tins are gone, my guess is that corporate got wise….

Stockton, CA no sign on the Nivea tins either. Boo hoo. Such a wasted trip today. It was a no go on the free men’s Degree deodorant as well. They were completely out of the trial size sunscreens. Still no Foodsaver in stock either. Geez.
Samantha says
It worked yesterday, but when I tried the same deal today at the same store, it didn’t work. The manager said the tins are not part of the deal. Also, the travel size sunscreen lotions didn’t work today either even though my q didn’t have any restrictions.

I actually heard a conversation between a manager and another Target employee. She was instructed to remove the tins from the self to discourage shoppers from buying this deal. I was very disappointed.
