Now, if you are not familiar with how Big Lots works, here are the details:
- Big Lots does not accept coupons, so to get these deals you will have to price match at Target or Walmart.
- To price match at Target, you need to have the actual ad in hand and more often than not, Big Lots won’t send an ad in the Sunday paper. Walmart does not require the physical ad to price match.
- Not all Walmart stores will honor Big Lots as a competitor to price match, so it is always best to call ahead and confirm.
- The selection at Walmart and Target will vary.
- So basically your luck will really vary and your best bet on these deals is probably going to be at Walmart.

Hi Charlene,
Can you confirm whether or not TARGET takes coupons when they price match. I was told they absolutely DO NOT that its either one or the other. Was hoping I could get a trustworthy answer from you!
Thanks!

Cynthia,
The policy is here:
http://myfrugaladventures.com/where-to-begin/coupon-policies/
They DO take them- manufacturer for sure. They also take Target coupons but it is confusing. The Target coupon is applied before the price match so often times the Target coupon is wasted. Here is an example:
Product x is $4.00 at Target
Price match it for $3.00 from another store
There is a $1 off Target coupon <--- applied BEFORE the price match So they apply the Target coupon making the price $3.00 and then you price match to $3.00 🙂 Now your manufacturer coupons come to play at the end of all that mess. I hope that makes sense. The tricky thing is that no Target stores ever seem to follow their own policy and I hear all the time from readers that price match and use Target coupons and manufacturer coupons so go figure :).
