Ok so you’ll have to read all the fine print on this. You can check all the angry comments below or check my Facebook wall for even more angry comments. It looks like you need an Amex card and you are actually registering to participate in small business Saturday where you spend $25 at a small business and then you get reimbursed for $25.
Today at 1pm EST there will be a giveaway on Facebook for 30,000 $25 American Express gift cards! This is sponsored by Fed Ex to promote Small Business Saturday which is on 11/26.
From what I can see, this is for the first 30,000 people that sign up with a mailing address on the Facebook page.
You can read more about the promotion here. If you win come back and let us know!
(Thanks Stretching a Buck)

So we have to wait until 1pm to do this? I don’t see anywhere to put mailing address now.
Charlene says
Yes Bridget the offer is live at 1pm EST.
Debbie says
Thanks for sharing! I hope it works! I will let you know!

From what I am reading, you must have an AmEx card. Is this right?

I’ve been on the FedEx facebook page and it looks like you have to have an American Express credit card in order to get this deal. 🙁

Scam Alert!! AFter not being able to get the page to load & wasting lots of time, I found this post:
After much searching, my husband finally found the terms and conditions to this promotion. (in the FaceBook search box, type in Small Business Saturday and then click on the terms and conditions link mid page) You have to have your own American Express Card and that is what you will register at 1pm. Then, On Saturday the 26, you will use your own card to spend $25 at a small business and Fed Ex will give you a $25 credit on your American Express Statement. I thought it was going to be an Amex Gift card, so, sadly, many people will not be able to benefit from this promotion!

DON’T FORGET TO UNLIKE THEM!!

It looks like it’s not really a gift card. From what I’m reading it appears to be a $25 dollar credit to your bill if you use your linked card.
Meh. I don’t have an American Express.

i just registered and it said nothing about having an amex acct. said i would get an email confirmation shortly and to look for my gift card in the mail. has a large FAQ section – page loads easily now i got one for me and one for hubby. you are allowed 2 per household 🙂
Justin D says
Actually it looks like it might not be a credit. My wife and I were both able to fill out the form and were told we would receive an email. So far we haven’t gotten any confirmation.

*update from my earlier post*
there seemed to be some technical difficulties with the form loading but after a very long wait I was able to get the $25 amex gift card. you did not have to be an American Express card holder to receive this offer.

There was a glitch in their system and I couldn’t sit around & wait for it. It was unbelievable though how some people were reacting, like they were ENTITLED to it! Geez.
Charlene says
LOL- Ok my patience ran out on this deal awhile ago so you are all on your own 😉
Nicole says
Well if it seems to good to be true………
Justin D says
Ok…it’s me again. I just got a confirmation email saying I would be getting the card in the mail soon. Free money!

I ended up receiving 2 of these gift cards. Seems like 2 promotions were being offered at the same time and with the fedex facebook page encountering errors around 1pm, people started posting about the amex credit if you spend $25 on November 26th. After about an hour or so I had managed to sign up for (2) $25 gift cards using 2 different email addresses on the fedex facebook page once they linked the $25 amex gift card on the left. They went really quick and I had to reload the page so many times and be patient. Sounds like the gift cards will be mailed soon as they want you to use them on Small Business Saturday 10/26/11. I’ll be checking the mail

I was able to get one after re-loading the page many times but it said I would get the card in the mail and I got one for my husband on his facebook account. I don’t have an AMEX so hopefully it works.

Yes, there are two separate promotions. One was put on by Fedex (the AMEX gift card they will mail out), and the other is put on directly by AMEX (a statement credit for $25 purchased on the 26th at a small business). You did NOT need a credit card to get the gift card by FEDEX, but you do need to register your AMEX card for the other promotion if you wish to participate on the 26th. Here is the link if they are still taking registrations: https://www.facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday?sk=app_183558821725512

I supported “Small Business Saturday” yesterday 11/26 and already rec’d a confirmation email that my registered AMEX Costco Card got $25 credit for my purchase at a small family-run Asian market in the East Bay. This is my 2nd year supporting this program. It is not a scam; poster cjs is right–there were 2 separate promos running & it was extremely confusing.
