Amazon: $5 Credit to Video on Demand

Well the Amazon credit for $5 to Video on Demand is back again but you need a Twitter account to take advantage of the offer.

The credit is available from 8-29 to 9-2 only so you gotta move it. You just head over here to Amazon and connect your Twitter and Amazon account.

Then they will tweet the following message: “I just got a $5 credit for instant movies and TV shows @amazonvideo. Click http://amzn.to/oWmBFy to get yours. #get5”

So I happen to love Amazon Video on Demand. I rent movies all the time and I watch them while I am doing my weekend food prep for the week. It is painful for me to turn down the free fiver but my concern with this promotion is that last time when I tried to register I got this message:

This application will be able to:
Read Tweets from your timeline.
See who you follow, and follow new people.
Update your profile.
Post Tweets for you.

And since I only have a Twitter account for the blog I am not taking any chances with giving out access to my account.  This is still a great promotion and hopefully some of you might want to take advantage of the deal.

Once you sign up, the credit is immediately put in your amazon account. You then go to your settings page in Twitter and select application, then revoke Amazon access.

Right. I am sure you can cancel the ability to go into your account. I am still not comfortable giving access to my account to anyone but if it was just a personal account I don’t think it would be a big deal.

I don’t really use my twitter account, since I am pretty much a hermit who only cares to interact with her own family. Therefore, they can follow me all they want.

Sure- LOL! That is exactly what I would do too if I had a personal account. They can see me tweet once a year and hopefully enjoy it- maybe add my incredible bit of wisdom to a Christmas card or something 😛

Thank you for demonstrating caution with this deal, Charlene, since you are just trying to protect all your followers on twitter. I did it with a personal account (since I am like Sue also) and just a note to anyone else who does this, the chance to tweet expires on 9/2 and the actual credits you get don’t expire until 10/31.

how about setting up an email address just for offers like this, and setting up a twitter account for offers just like this? people can own multiple email accounts (business, personal, etc reasons) and multiple twitter accounts.
