Here is my plan for this week:
- Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya (sent in by a reader)
- Chicken and Creamy Cauliflower
- Parmesan Risotto and Salad
- Enchiladas
- Grilled Tillapia and Salad
- Shepard’s Pie
Most of these recipes are from a new cookbook I just got, Slow Cooker Revolution. So far I have found a ton of good stuff in this cookbook.
I also made this 30 minute strawberry jam today. I tried it with mixed berry frozen fruits and it seems more dessert-y to me. If you want something yummy to put on grilled fruit, pancakes or ice cream this was incredibly fast to make. I still have those Fig Newton cookies so I will probably have it with those.

Hi Charlene,
thought I’d mention to you a recipe on a site you may or may not know for a very yummy and fast/easy recipe for strawberry jam (3 ingredients). I tried it last weekend…yummy! http://savorysweetlife.com/2009/07/summer-love-easy-balsamic-strawberry-sauce-and-no-pectin-balsamic-strawberry-jam-recipe/ I made her strawberry shortcake recipe made with her creamed scones recipe (so easy and so yummy) and used the strawberry jam with additional fresh strawberries. I am going to adapt the same recipe with the fresh blueberries from Safeway tomorrow (with the scone biscuits!)…could do the same with cherries too! Just thought I’d share. Thanks for everything you do!

With last night’s storm here in NorCal, I was thanking Charlene (& her grocery deals posts) because I didn’t have to leave my house & we enjoyed steaming bowls of Turkey Chili (cheap ground turkey from Sfwy), hot sourdough bread from my bread machine (got idea from MFA FB page! It made the house smell so good), for dessert I made a blueberry sauce (cheap blueberries from Sfwy) to pour over pound cake (free from Nob Hill awhile back). It was cozy and comforting. Thanks to you!
