{CLOSED} Giveaway: Summer Grilling Cookbook

06/21/2011 By Charlene

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

I thought this would be a fun giveaway.  I have a copy of “Dadgum That’s Good! Kickbutt Recipes for Smoking, Grilling, Frying, Boiling and Steaming” cookbook by John McLemore to giveaway to one MFA reader.

I actually was reading an email about this cookbook as I was sitting in the Lady and Son’s in Savannah a few weeks ago and the foreword of the cookbook was written by Paula Deen.  I thought this would be a great book to check out since I have never really had Southern food before.

This is a fun cookbook with recipes that are Southern inspired.  There are quite a few recipes that require a deep fryer (which we don’t own) but I found tons of other recipes that were appealing and fairly easy to prepare.  I think this book would especially appeal to men as there are a lot of recipes for grilled meats and I loved the section on how to make regional BBQ sauce from Kansas City, Alabama, Memphis etc..  The author of this book, John McLemore, clearly takes his BBQ seriously.

You will find some lighter recipes like Salmon and Avocado salad all the way to some not so light recipes like Deep Fried Oreo Cookies.

I know I have purchased a few new cookbooks recently to jazz up our summer routine and I thought one of you might get inspired by the dishes in this cookbook.

If you want to win a copy of “Dadgum That’s Good!” just leave a comment below letting me know what your favorite summertime meal is.  Personally I make a lot of Greek orzo pasta in the summer because it is so simple and very light.  My favorite part of summer though is all the grilling my husband does (read: I don’t have to cook- Yay!)

So just leave me a comment below and let me know what your summertime dish is.

I will pick a winner tomorrow at 6pm PST.

GOOD LUCK!
