Salad and Roasted Tomato Feta Scones (my girls won’t eat those scones but I plan to save them for breakfast)
Chicken Parmesan and leftover salad
Homemade Fish Sticks and Broccoli
Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms (my 3yo hates mushrooms so I am thinking I will just do corn for her or maybe leftovers) and steak
Shell Pasta with Creamy Smoked Bacon and Pea Sauce from Jaime Oliver Food Revolution book
Burgers (from Jaime Oliver’s book) and Sweet Potato fries
This week my husband won’t be as thrilled with the menu but we just got back from a trip to the south where we ate a lot of not so great stuff (hello Paula Deen’s restaurant… hello praline candy in Savannah…hello croissant at the airport…) so I am going to try to make things a little lighter this week.

Was looking at the recipe for this, the mint seems like an odd combination with bacon. Is the mint a strong flavor in the dish? Everything else sounds fantastic in it. I’m thinking that would be a fantastic addition to our menu! But, will it be missing something if I leave off the mint or use basil instead?

Oooooh…can you PLEASE come back and share how those scones were?? They look amazing!!!!

Oh, how was Paula Deen’s restaurant?! How fun.

Amy- I just pulled them from the oven so they would be ready for tomorrow. They smell fantastic. I used Garlic and Herb feta.
Jen- I am ditching the mint too. We are pretty plain people so I think the mint will turn the girls off and the idea is to find easy things they can eat that aren’t from a box or microwave ๐
Rachel- I was warned not to go and sadly it was really awful. I had fried green tomatoes and those were OK. I had a hoecake dripping with grease and the buffet looked like a cafeteria ๐ It really was bad. Sad because I love Paula! Atlanta reminded me a lot of Seattle except not rainy ๐ We loved Charleston and Savannah was lovely too. They are all about Paula there.

Amy- I had half of one. They are really delicious. I am going to try and make a feta cheese spread because they are maybe a teensy dry. These will be awesome for breakfast this week.

That is too bad! (about Paula’s restaurant) I would’ve expected much more from her. Bummer! I’ve never been to “the south” but would like to one day. ๐

We’ve been to Charleston many times-my fav city. We went for the first time to Savannah on a day trip last summer (we were staying in Hilton Head) and the MIL wanted desperately to go to Lady and Sons (Paula’s restaurant). We showed up at 10:30 am and were told they wouldn’t have a seat available until 8pm!! Needless to say, we did not eat there-so I will pass this review on to MIL and maybe it will bring her a smile:)
