Just a note for those of you in the Sacramento area that the new Sunflower Farmers Market will be opening in Roseville tomorrow.
The market is located in the Trader Joe’s shopping center (Roseville Square) just up from the Douglas Target store.
I will be posting the deals later on today but wanted to let you know they are having a special event tomorrow. The first 200 customers that make a purchase in store will receive a reusable shopping bag filled with $50 in groceries. It looks like the store opens at 7am.
I got a flyer in the mail last week that had a $5/25 coupon on it so you might keep an eye on your mailbox and see if you find the same thing. I got this week’s circular in the mail yesterday and it did not have the coupon.
It looks like Sunflower will have a lot of amazing organic and natural foods as well as crazy good prices on produce. If that isn’t enough, they are similar to Sprouts in that they offer one extra day for each circular. So on Wednesday you can shop and get the new week’s deals plus the prior week’s deals in one day!
If you decide to check this out come back and let us know how it goes for you!
PS: Reader Shelly let me know the Papyrus store on Douglas Blvd is closing and she found the entire store marked down 70% off.

I had no idea we were so close to each other, I live in Elk Grove. I tell all my friends to follow your blog because you always have the deals for the stores I shop at.

Lucky! We used to live in Denver and I shopped at Sunflower every week! I particularly remember a great bulk foods section and terrific deals on meat (yummy chicken sausage $1.99 per pound!). It’s sort of like a combination of Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and a old fashioned natural foods store.

I showed up at 6:40 and they’d already given away all the free bags of groceries, so I went to Sprouts and did my shopping on the past 2 ads. Then, I went back to Sunflower and shopped there. Used my $5 off $25 coupon and they gave me a coupon for a free deli mustard when you buy 1 lb of Boars Head deli meat (I got hot dogs) so that saved $2.99. I looked around and the store is very similar to Sprouts. I didn’t think they had as good of opening day sales as Sprouts did but that’s probably from my shopping standards. The bulk area is big, but I’d thought I’d get some raisins for $1.99 lb, but Sprouts had them for $1.49 lb. Staff was all friendly.
I really like that I can shop 2 ads at once – means I can go every other week — maybe I’ll go to one store on one Wed and the other the next Wed! lol

Hello!
Well, I did venture out 5:30am this morning and drive up to Roseville to get the free $50 grocery bag of food. Stopped and got a breakfast burrito and ventured on. My sister and I got to the parking lot at 6:15am and jumped in line, we were numbers #141 and #142. By 6:20am all the bags were gone.
We did get great stuff in our bags, like fresh produce-apples, nectarines, peaches, tomatoes, whole bean coffee, cookies, cereal and an envelope full of coupons for free produce and such.
It was an AWESOME morning…BIG THANKS to MFA because that is how I found out about the grand opening.

Me and a friend went at about 12:30pm and it was packed. I did get a lot of samples. Bought the Chicken Sausage, pears, nectarines, steak, scones, rotisserie chicken ( I like Sam’s Club rotisserie chicken better), bagels, etc. I liked the store. We got free hotdogs, icees, got to play games with the kids. Our Sprouts on Greenback hasn’t opened yet so I’m looking forward to the Grand Opening! I did get to use the $5/$25 and looking forward to going again! My fridge is full of fresh fruit!
