Amazon is offering a discount on the Kindle with 3G and WiFi– it is priced at $164 and your shipping is free.
This device is normally $189 and the reason they are offering the discounted price is because it is a Kindle with special offers.
These have “sponsored screensavers” (aka commericals) that come up when you are not reading on your device. I was wondering if it was worth the $25 savings to be subjected to commericals but they actually don’t look that noticable- Amazon has an example of the screensaver here:
Apparently, some of the special offers you see are coupons for Amazon. So it could actually work out nicely.
You can see the discounted Kindle here.
They are also offering this same discount on a regular Kindle- it is priced at $114 if you get the version with special offers.

I have the previously released Kindle with special offers, dear hubby bought it for me for Mothers Day 🙂 Anyway, the offers/advertisements are not annoying at all. They come on just like a computer screen saver when there is no activity on your Kindle. And a slide of a button gets rid of it just like moving the mouse on a computer. While most of the offers are uninteresting to me, I did just get a good one. They offered 50% off the regularly priced $60 leather cover with light. These go for $45 even on Ebay, so I emailed the offer to myself and am seriously considering it.
