Yikes! I just bought 4 of these last week from Target! Thanks for the info! Thanks for all you do. Your blog helped me to cut my grocery bill down to $168 total last month! It’s been a little higher this month b/c we had a birthday party & I needed to stock up on meat but hopefully I can get it back on track. Are there good ways to stock up on meat cheaply? (I wait till it goes on sale but even then it can still be pricey.) Do things like TP go on good sale as well? I saw Target had 9 mega roll for $9.99 buy 2 get $5 gift card. I saw coupons for TGT $1 off Charmin & then there’s a $1 off Charmin mega roll in the big P&G coupon book they mailed out. Is that a good deal? Roughly $11 for both after Q’s & GC?
Thanks again for all you do. I especially love that you read & answer your readers comments. That’s phenomenal! Don’t know how you find the time but, we definitely appreciate your efforts! Kuddos!

Thanks for posting. The UPC matched my bottle but the date didn’t. I am assuming both are suppose to match and we should be fine?

Bree, I think both but I would contact them to be sure. I wouldn’t take this lightly myself- especially if you have little ones. Kids can die from salmonella poisoning. Maybe I am paranoid because I just watched Food Inc recently.

Ok Jen- I had to find the formula because I couldn’t remember where I posted it :P. Here is how to figure out:
If you move the decimal point on the square foot of TP you can get the price you should pay. So for example, there are 246 square feet of TP in a pack. Add a decimal point after that first digit- so you should pay no more than $2.46 per package for a package with 246 sq ft.
Does that make sense?
For meat, I just buy big when it is cheapest. I buy about 6 bags of chicken at $1.49 and I don’t know- maybe 15lbs of ground beef when it is 1.49. I have just found by buying extra we don’t go through it as fast because there is so much variety in the freezer. My family does eat meat nearly every meal but the other thing too is once you get your stockpile of proteins going then you can tighten that budget. If you are starting with an empty freezer it would be much harder.

FYI, I called and you need to have both the UPC and dates. Also California was not included in this distribution.
