Just a quick update that if you planned to do the Toilet Paper deal at Rite Aid this week, they have since changed it to a limit of 1.
Apparently the stores are supposed to have signs up now to reflect just one +Up per person on this deal. If you missed it:
Select Rite Aid Paper Products, $1
–Facial Tissue (3 ply, 65 ct.)
–Bath Tissue (single roll)
–Simplify Bath Tissue (4 pk.)
Get $1 +UP Reward
Total after +UP Reward: FREE
**May qualify for $3 +UP Reward wyb $10 Facial Tissue
Don’t be tricked on this deal because there are Rite Aid products priced at .99. Those are not the ones that qualify for this offer.
I believe it is just the TP that has the limit now- but sadly I have a feeling the majority of stores will be sold out already on these items anyway…
Thanks K Crew!

Charlene – I tested it on the tissues this afternoon and it was indeed a limit of 1. Seems to be tied to wellness cards because I tired 1 in two different transactions – first one worked, second did not.
Charlene says
Mindy- you mean facial tissues right? Ok thank you I will update that. So do you think you pick one total from the free items or you can get one free TP and one free facial tissue etc..?
TaN says
You can get one TP and one tissue in one transaction i just did that. They had to put a limit because people were buying 20+ and clearing the shelves. A few bad people ruin it for the rest of us.

I was just reading on another blog that some person went on Sunday to get medication right when the store opened and found three women literally fighting over the tp 🙁 Apparently the management of the store had to step in to avoid an altercation. Things seem to be changing now with how people use coupons and I am not so sure I like what I am seeing 🙁 One of the ladies apparently had a child with her. I am trying to think of any coupon deal I have ever experienced that would be worth fighting over and I can’t. Maybe if Rite Aid offers free cars next month I will start strength training 😉
Nicole says
I agree, what is really worth fighting over. Come on people, don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

I got 6 of each (4packs, single rolls, tissues) yesterday without any problem. I’m glad that I went first thing because the store was totally wiped out when I went back later last night to get a few things I forgot. The man who walked in the store in front of me had a whole cart full of all of the 4 packs that were in the store except for the 6 that I got. I think that the only reason he left any is because I was right behind him. The store had at least 50 boxes of tissues and probably 200 single rolls but they were out at 7pm yesterday.
I think it stinks that they made it limit 1 total! I understand them limiting it but to only 1 seems insane… it’s not even 1 of each.
Jennifer says
Too bad they didn’t limit it to begin with. I actually need tissues right now and didn’t get any because they were wiped out. Oh well. Can’t get every deal I guess. And you’re right, so not worth fighting over!!!

I wonder how this is going to affect those of us that got rainchecks? My raincheck is for a dozen. If I am correct, when they ring up a raincheck item they can’t print an up reward, so they either deduct it or give you a gift card with the amount on it. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Wish they would have had a limit from the beginning. Couldn’t go yesterday and none left this morning. I would actually like it they started having limits on most items. One might be a little low but maybe a limit of 5 or even less would work for me. I don’t want a ton but it would be nice to get some of the deals without having to go first thing on Sunday.

Rite Aid is starting to annoy me around here…last week they were out of 4 different ad items for the ENTIRE week. (I’m assuming there was a line out front on Sunday for them to be out so quick, since I usually go late Sunday afternoon – or sometimes on Monday). One store said they got some sale items in and on the floor by Saturday, but only a few, and they were gone in a few hours. I don’t need to do every single deal, but it is frustrating when I do want to purchase 3 or 4 items a week, and I have to get rainchecks for EVERY single item on the first day of the sale. Can’t Rite Aid figure out what items are going to be on sale & in high demand and plan to stock up on those items ahead of time? Or, get the shipment that comes in midweek out on the shelves before the last day of the sale? And, silly that they didn’t think people would be ‘stocking up’ at the price of “free” for all that tissue! If they wanted to put limits, why didn’t they do it in the ad to make it fair to everyone? C’mon Rite Aid….get it together. (I think I’m fired up to write corporate now…hee hee).

Didn’t realize it was a bear tp market…the store/company had this ad created in what nov/dec last year?? If they want people to try the private label stuff, they need to arrange for larger quantities on hand. Tp/tissues last what, a year? Even if they over ordered heavy, there will be another tp/tissue sale before long. I agree people are particularly insane about tissues/tp, maybe because you can build killer castles and forts out of them, but there is no shortage of these products, ESP. considering most of it nowadays contains recycled product.

My Rite Aids only get a truck delivery every other week. Really frustrating when they run out of something on Sunday there is no hope that they will get some more in that week.

Some of these posts have been very funny! My closest store already had a limit when I went yesterday at noon -handwritten on the sales sign- LIMIT 4! I know why they did it because last week while I was checking out the manager told the cashier limit of 2 on the Stayfree B1G1F deal.
When I asked what was that all about, the cashier said “some crazy lady came in and tried to buy up all the Stayfrees and if we hadn’t told her NO there would not have been any for you to get right now!”
Charlene says
Well shoot Jay. Had I known I could have built a fort of toilet paper I would have been the first one in line to get 400 rolls. 😀 Maybe the toilet paper fort will be the background for our holiday cards next year.
Lori says
I didn’t think about a fort. I bought several rolls just to TP my SIL’s house.

My Rite Aid did not have a sign up that I saw, but there was a limit – I only received 3 +up rewards. I bought 4 facial tissues, 4 4-packs of TP, and 2 rolls of TP. I didn’t realise that the special $3 +up was on the facial tissue only, but it would cause you to think that they want you to actually buy 10, you know?
I put a call into headquarters today, so I’ll see what I hear tomorrow.
Charlene says
Ok Lori you got me. I change my vote. I have crossed the line from being anti-shelf clearing, to being a proponent of shelf clearing but only if the use serves the greater good of humanity. Clearly your case does. Next time there is a TP sale my step-monster is getting a yard full of toilet paper trees! Whoot!

I went to RA tonight for (among other things) the facial tissue. My plan was to get 10 for the $1 +up each and possible additional $3 +up. They only had 9, so I figured that it would be free no matter what, and I didn’t need to be so greedy. I bought all 9. Only 3 +ups printed. I asked the cashier. She told me it was marked and showed me a tiny b & w photo copied sign by the ad in the front of the store (which of course I didn’t look at when I walked in). I politely apologized for missing it and asked to return the 6. She was very kind and had no issue. In the end 3 free tissue paper is more than I had to begin with and it only took a minute to resolve the issue My RA really does rock; they have fantastic customer service!

I have another question for you all. The up plus 20 dollar reward for the resoluction. It this before or after coupons. I did this once alreay and im almost sure it was before coupons. I went with my mom the other day and we bought about 130.00 dollars worth of stuff (tons of it was for the 20 back) and the balance on the reciept was only up by 6 dollars. The store told me it was after coupons??!!! Im so confused. Did they change this at some point in the middle of the month?
Janelle says
oh they were also different cards too!
Jay says
The totals accumulate based on pre-coupon prices (how would the system know if you used a coupon on a buy & save item since man. coupons only show how much they are worth on the receipt). I have seen all over the net that the amounts are anything but accurate, esp. last week with the special k “giveaway”. Just make sure you buy “buy & save” items. I don’t know about January’s product list, but I did see one for next month’s on iheartriteaid.com.

Saturday night I checked the tp stock at one of my local RA’s and they had 11 rolls. My plan was to go early Sunday morning before church. Ha, ha, like that happened. NOT. So, today, I was near another RA and had a half hour before I needed to be at work, so I stopped in to see if there was any tp. YES, there were 2 shelves full of the 4 packs (none of the single rolls or tissue). Now, I didn’t want to be a pig, but free tp is a mightly draw – it never spoils and heavens knows I use it every day; so I picked up 5 packs. There were no limits posted. I got up to the counter and my purchase was rung up and only 3 UPs printed. The cashier noticed and called the manager. They discussed a limit, but it wasn’t in the ad and I said I didn’t see anything on the shelf, so they gave me back $2.xx (even the tax). If you are going to make limits in the middle of the ad, you’d better post them big and proud. What do they think when they have FREE TP? People won’t want a bunch of it? It doesn’t make any sense. We didn’t even have to have a coupon to get it free. Never could find any of that pasta last week that was free. Sigh.
Janelle says
thanks Jay. I am seeing that nothing is acurate with the upplus with the 20 back. I made sure I got items that were listed too! Well i guess i will be calling them! Thanks!
