{CLOSED} Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

01/24/2011 By Charlene

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

I have pulled together several giveaways in honor of a big event around here.  It is the second birthday of My Frugal Adventures! It seems like MFA has been part of our lives forever- and as my husband refers to it (affectionately and sometimes not so affectionately) is our third child.

So no birthday is complete without presents of course so I wanted to kick off our little birthday party with an awesome giveaway courtesy of Home Depot!

Home Depot is launching a Renew and Redo sale at stores nationwide.  They are offering big discounts on products for the bathroom as well as in store experts and online tools to help you find the perfect products to complete your project.   The sale runs from 1/20-2/23 and features deep discounts on all sorts of items.

As some of you might know, we have been in the midst of never ending home renovation projects.  We originally intended to spruce up the kitchen a little.  Well we wound up with serious water damage in the kitchen, master bathroom and the kid’s bathroom that resulted in gutting all three rooms.  I am very happy to say that our final project (the master bath) just had the shower doors installed today and we have finally finished all three projects!  Needless to say, Home Depot has been a second home to us for the past several months!

Now that we have 2 gorgeous new bathrooms it makes our guest bathroom even more of an eyesore.  The original owners of our house made very… shall we say taste specific- choices for the house.  (Including lots of brass fixtures and oak cabinets!)  So our tiny guest bath is truly horrific with laminate wood floors, brass fixtures and gray marble.  It is really something else.

We are certainly not in the mood for another full scale renovation, but we decided to see how much we could do on a very small budget.

So here is a little peek at the current state of the guest bath. The room is dark and depressing and is sadly the only bathroom on the main floor of the house.  So it needs serious help for sure.   I am super excited to start shopping at Home Depot and see what we can do to fix up this bathroom on a tight budget.

We already started looking around last weekend and we found vanities starting at $99!

I am very happy to say that Home Depot has provided me with one $100 gift card to pass along to a lucky reader to help you get started on a little makeover of your own!

This giveaway will run through Sunday 30th and you have two chances to win.

ENTRY #1: Just leave a comment below telling me what items you would like to purchase for your bathroom!

BONUS: If you subscribe to MFA via email, follow on Twitter or like me on Facebook you get a bonus entry so be sure to leave a second comment letting me know!

*Please be sure to actually leave a comment below.  Any emails, Facebook messages or tweets will not be counted.  If you are viewing this in a reader just click through to the blog to leave your comment.

GOOD LUCK!

I would love a new lighting set for my bathroom. There is only one light bulb in the ceiling and with no windows I think a great set of ceiling fixtures would improve the overall look so much.
    Thank you!

Well, since we discovered our shower has been leaking and rotted out the bathroom floor, we’re pretty much replacing everything! A gift card would go a long way toward getting the tile we need after tearing out the entire shower and tub. Thank you!

  9. Crystal says

    01/25/2011 at 12:16 AM

I follow you on Facebook, so here’s my bonus entry… Other than tile, we could use it toward new faucet hardware for the shower and tub or even flooring. Thanks again!

  10. Danielle says

We need it all! Tile, paint, fixtures, new toilet, etc.

Now…on to HD. I would love to buy better lighting for the bathroom, something that would install above the mirror.

    01/25/2011 at 12:25 AM

I’d love to replace our faucets, change out the mirrors, light fixtures and add knobs on the cabinets… I’d do more, but that would be a nice mini makeover;-) DH just put a pedistal sink in my mom’s bathroom and man that was a lot of work!!! In case anyone is thinking of that, be prepared. Lol. Love your site Charlene! Great giveaway!

  15. Dana says

  23. Christina says

    01/25/2011 at 12:32 AM

Oh goodness, where do I begin! I would love to gut our master as we also have beautiful (NOT) oak cabinet, white tile with “not so white” grout (I know it could be worse, like the pink tile in the other bathroom, that’s another story!). Oh and I would have great joy in pulling out the globe light bar that brings me back to the 80’s and replacing that. I also would LOVE to get new faucets for our sink since not even the kids can turn them on! You have to have superhuman strength to pull it on. WHO THOUGHT OF THOSE!?!?! I know it would cost me more than $100 but its a start! 😉

  24. Hailey Mac says

    01/25/2011 at 12:33 AM

We are renting, and what I would love to see happen in our master bath would be just a quick and easy (and reversible!) fix. I have yet to shower in our master bath because it is one with the sliding glass doors instead of shower curtain. I’m tall and have long limbs, those doors make the tub/shower seem so TINY!
I’d love to take the doors off and get one of the shower curtain rods that extends out that a lot of hotels use. So my HD shopping trip would hopefully be, shower rod, shower curtain and a nice new water efficient flexible shower head!

  25. sierra says

    01/25/2011 at 12:39 AM

I’d tear up that ugly powder blue shower tile and put some nice black and white subway tile in my bathroom!

You have no idea how bad we NEED this giftcard! It seems like thing after thing is breaking or missing a screw, etc. I would use this for a new bathroom vanityfor our upstairs bath. We don’t *want* one we *NEED* one because we have been living without a vanity/sink for too long! We didn’t realize when we gutted the bathroom how hard & EXPENSIVE our oddball vanity size would be! I need a home for all of my deals on shampoos, razors, etc.
Thanks for an awesome giveaway & congrats on the 2 year birthday of MFA!!! Very exciting!

  42. Michelle says
