Safeway: 12 Days of Christmas is Back!

I have a supplemental ad for Safeway in my paper today and it doesn’t mention this at all.  When I looked online, I noticed they did have another ad for my area featuring the 12 Days of Christmas!

If you missed this last year, they offer a new special per day at significantly discounted prices.  There are usually fairly low limits on the items.  I thought last year they had a minimum purchase requirement but I am not seeing one on the online ad.

It looks like this starts on December 13th with 5lbs of flour priced at .59 (limit 2), December 14th is store brand chocolate chips priced at .99- Use the .50/1 from the Thanksgiving coupon book= .49!! (limit 3), and on Wednesday 15th store brand oats priced at .99 (limit 2).

So you might enter your zip code and see if you spot this ad as well.

Otherwise, here are a few deals from the supplemental ad I did have in my paper:

Charlene… The 12 Days of Christmas is featured as the main wrap of my newspaper. It also has additional Super Saver coupons that are available all week.

Yes mine was in a wrapper on the front section of the newspaper. It actually starts today (Sunday 12/12) with ham for .99 cents a lb. Spiral cut I think.

My paper starts today as well with the spiral cut ham at .99 cents lb. It says next to the ham it requires a $20 min purchase but doesn’t say anything next to the other days, so it’s a little unclear if they need a min purchase as well.

I was just wondering with the limit on the 12 days items – is that per transaction or per day? Can I buy several of the flours if I split it up into separate purchases?

Jill, I am not sure to be honest. I can’t see how they world track it if you bought more than the limit in different transactions. One thing I will say though- and hopefully this doesn’t offend because I am sure you are thinking of 4 flour and not 45 flour- is to pay attention to inventory levels if you decide to try it. I went to a huge store tonight and the shelves were bare. I found 2 but it took some searching and if I didn’t have a fussy baby I probably would have put one back so others could get the deal too. So if your store is overflowing with product that is one thing but if your store has empty shelves it is bad coupon karma 😉

Did any one have a problem with needing to have a minimum purchase to buy the flour? Was told that I had to spend $20 every day to get each 12 Days of Christmas deals, and they almost didn’t let me go through with the transaction? Just wondering if anyone else is having problems…..

Carissa- I would ask where that is indicated in the ad. I couldn’t find a minimum anywhere so that doesn’t seem right to me.

Thought I would check back in to let you know how my flour deal went today 😉 I stopped in early today and picked up 2 bags of the unbleached – they had only 3 bags of that variety on the shelf but many displays with the unbleached. After my transaction I asked the clerk about the limit of two and she didn’t know the answer. I asked if I could get two more bags and “test” it and she said, “Sure!” The second transaction went through with no problem, same price. Incidently; I did only purchase four because I agree it is discouraging to have empty shelves looking at your when you are looking for a deal and I did NOT have to spend a minimum to get the flours – they were the only items I purchased. I may stop back in tomorrow for the choc chips – does anyone know if the Safeway brand has any allergen info for nuts on it? Thanks! 🙂

I , too wondered about limits for the 12 Days event and noticed that the only place limits were mentioned was on the SW website…thanks for the info!

No mention of limits on the in-store promotional signage …

Hi… I’m wondering if you know of the limit using the coupon from the Thanksgiving book for the Choc Chips today. The coupon states limit 1. Then it says limit 1 per unit purchased so am wondering if I can use more than one coupon per transaction or if it will beep on the second one?

    Thanks!

Paula- I have to go do that trip myself. I can tell you last night I bought 3 Coffeemate and used 3 coupons from that book and no beeps. I can’t promise but I think you will be ok. Maybe try the UScan 😉
