Checked it out because I am looking for a hotel room for inlaws over the next few days. The website you use is not the normal travelocity website, it is travelocityincentives. Over the dates I am looking, there is nothing available. When I look on the normal travelocity website, there are dozens of hotels available. So, maybe I am looking at blackout dates or something. Just saying.

Lori- this is what I read in the fine print:

Travelocity Hotel Gift Card is redeemable ONLY toward hotel reservations made online through the TravelocityIncentives.com website (the “Website”).

TravelocityIncentives.com is Travelocity.com’s official gift card redemption site.

So they make it sound like it is the same site- just one is for gift card redemption. I would absolutely read the fine print before you purchase and verify the place you want is available. With that being said, this is peak season for travel so I think this offer is more for people that will be travelling sometime next year. I am sure the vast majority of hotels were booked for Christmas months ago so that is probably why you see the lack of availability.

I tried both sites, and nothing was available at this late a date through travelocityincentives, but everything was available (with some pretty decent last-minute rates, up to half off!) through travelocity. According to the fine print, it should be usable on the dates I chose. I’m guessing that perhaps the $50 certificate is good only on certain rates, or that blackout dates apply, and that the incentives site deals specifically with those rates.

Since I’m not familiar with the incentive site, I decided to pass. However, that does not mean that I won’t research the site next time that I am travelling. I was not aware of it before.
