CVS: Despicable Me $10 off Coupon with Purchase

If you can use 2 copies of Despicable Me DVD, you might get lucky at CVS.

When you purchase $15 in iTunes gift cards, you get the DVD for $9.99.  Since the DVD is only $15 from Amazon I was luke warm on this deal- unless you can use the iTunes cards.

Anyhoo, reader Wendy went today to buy her copy and after she purchased her movie a coupon for $10 off printed.

Now the store actually let Wendy use the coupon on her movie- but I wouldn’t think that was is likely to happen at most stores.

But if you are interested in this deal it could look like this:

Buy $15 in iTunes cards
Buy movie at $9.99
Final Price: $24.99

Buy a second iTunes card at $15
Get movie for $9.99
Use $10/1 coupon
Final Price: $15!

So just to clarify it looks like the coupon is printing after you purchase your movie.

Can you return gift cards once they are purchased?

I don’t think so Bonnie. Plus it isn’t really something I would suggest doing. This is a promotion when you purchase something so to buy with the intent of returning it doesn’t really seem right to me as tempting as that may be.

There are signs that specifically state that sales on gift cards are final.

I have never seen a coupon print at the end of a receipt. Is this only in certain regions?

Lori- I thought it was unusual too but I checked this out and it seems to be happening for a lot of people. So I can’t promise you’ll get it but seems to be working.

Itunes gift cards are great to hang on too for those tween and teen birthday parties that my boys get invited to “last minute”.

It worked for me tonight. I bought the iTunes card and got the DVD for $9.99. That receipt printed a $10 coupon. So I did the transaction again, used the coupon to get the movie for free. Then that receipt printed ANOTHER coupon. I really could stand to pick up one more iTunes card, so I will get another free movie tomorrow (which I will donate or stick in our birthday gift box).

I just came from CVS…I purchased a $15 itunes gift card for my niece as a gift in the first transaction, I received a $10 off Q for the Despicable Me movie. Second transaction, I purcahsed the movie, which rang up at $14.99, used the $10 Q – $4.99!!!! SCORE!
