Toys R Us: Super Game Deal is Back!

The Toys R Us game sale is back.  Some of you might remember this one from last year.  I am happy to see it back because I like to buy a few of these for toy drives.

Here is the deal:

Toys R Us offers rebates on select Hasbro Games.  The rebate lasts through 12/31 and you can get one rebate per game.  The rebate form can be found in stores or is available online to print.  Some of the games are as low as $1 each after rebate PLUS Toys R Us is offering a $10 gift card when you spend $35 on games.  The gift card is based on your pre-rebate amount, so it works out to be a great deal.

Here is just one idea- please let us know what you have planned for this deal:

Buy 1 Candy Land at $3 (Get $2 rebate back)
Buy 1 Chutes and Ladders at $3 (Get $2 rebate back)
Buy 1 Hi Ho Cherry O at $5 (Get $2 rebate)
Buy 1 Ants in the Pants at $5 (Get $2 rebate)
Buy 1 Don’t Break the Ice at $5 (Get a $2 rebate)
Buy 1 Memory at $5 (Get a $2 rebate)
Buy 1 Scrabble at $10.99 (Get $3 rebate)*
Subtotal $36.99

You should get a $10 gift card for spending $35
Then you will get a $15 rebate check.  So sort of like paying $11.99 for 7 garmes or $1.71 each

*The Scrabble price is listed in the TRU Christmas book on page 29.  The regular Scrabble also comes with a chocolate Scrabble game ($9.99 value) for free.

**If you got a Toys R Us ad in your paper today you might also have a $10 off $75 coupon. This would make an awesome deal if you still want to pick up Toy Story 3 on Blu Ray. There is another $10 gift card that is available when you spend $40 on Disney movies*. So I think the scenario would work out like this:

Spend $36.99 on games listed above
Buy Toy Story 3 Blu Ray for $34.99
Buy 2nd DVD of your choice at $14.99
Subtotal: $84.95
Use $8 off TS 3 coupon
Use $10/75 Toys R Us coupon
Get back (2) $10 gift cards
AND the $15 in rebates for the games!

So $33.97 for all that- but keep in mind you need to ask for a rebate receipt if you want to submit for the Toy Story 3 rebates as well because you need your receipt to mail away for the Hasbro games.

Note they also have rebates on 2 video games: $5 back for Monopoly Streets and Family Game Night 3.

*The $10 gift card from Disney movies is featured in the Toys R Us Big Book this year.  I have heard from several of you that had no problems with this gift card and using multiple coupons so hopefully it all works out.

If all that wasn’t enough, there are so many free things when you buy other things.  You might spend an extra few minutes looking at the Toys R Us Big Book and the weekly ad so see what bonus offers they have.  They are also offering these giant plush stuffed animals for $4.99 with any $50 purchase.  We bought one last year and $5 is really a great deal for these guys.

My TRU printed me several receipts so that I could do all of the rebates, etc. I also got the $10 off $75 card.

I was just about to ask if they would let you combine offers to get the free Chocolate Monopoly or Scrabble game (pg 28 of Big Toy Book). Shelley, do they let you?

I just ran out and did this deal! It worked great! (Only Scrabble was 10.99 at my store, but that’s par for the course in CT – everything is always more expensive!). My store was out of the Chocolate Scrabble though, but that’s OK – I really don’t need any more chocolate!

    I only bought
    1 Candyland at $3
1 Chutes and Ladders at $3
    1 HiHo Cherry O at $5
and a Hungry Hungry Hippos at $9
Total Hasbro purchase was $20 and they gave me the $10 gift card.
So with the rebates of $9, I paid a grand total of $1.

Not sure how I got the gift card with only $20 in purchases, but I who am I to correct the register 🙂

Only the Scrabble Jr. is $9 and it does not qualify for the rebate.

If I buy 2 movies at 19.99 (spending 39.98) do they round up to count for the $40 Disney purchase?

I kinda did this deal. I bought $35+ dollars worth of Hasbro games (one that came with a chocolate Monopoly, $40+ dollars worth of movies and was short. So I bought a $20 Wii game my kids had wanted. I used $3 movie coup from Toys R Us booklet and ended up with $30 in gift cards. I did have to spend more than initially thought because the 10 for $75 counts your subtotal before you qualify. The receipt still confuses me 🙂

Michelle, you’d have to test it to be sure but I wouldn’t think so 🙁 Maybe the tax will count but honestly I don’t know.

Ok thanks Rose, let me update that.

    GAIL,
My daughter did it also. She discovered the full price not the sale price triggered the gift card. So that is probably why you got the $10 gift card with only spending 20.
