You can order your groceries online and then have them delivered to your home for free.
Typically they offer $15 off a $50 order but they have just extended a special offer for $20 off. This is for the 500 orders at each of the 3 stores. If you have some holiday shopping to do this is a great way to save 40% off your shopping bill without leaving the house or cutting one coupon.
I loved the delivery service when I ordered and I actually stocked up on meat- but this is a great way to save on dairy items, produce and I think you might be able to order alcohol as well.

What happens if I order a bunch of meat and the price is different than what appears at checkout. I mean, are they going to be able to get EXACTLY 13lbs of meat or will it be a little more/less and if so, how is the difference paid/refunded?!? TIA
Kristin your total will not be exact. I ordered meat and a little produce and they round up. So I want to say I expected to pay $35 and my total was like $37. It is not going to be a radical difference and if it is, you don’t actually pay until they deliver so tell them to take the extra quarter lb of meat back 😛

Thanks so much, Charlene! I was dreading going out in the rain today to the crowded grocery store. Plus I haven’t had the time or energy to seek out the deals for Thanksgiving dinner, so I was going to shop pretty much without coupons which is just pure torture (as I am sure you know!) Now I don’t have to leave my house, my Thanksgiving dinner will be delivered to my doorstep tomorrow, and I got a great deal!
Now if I could only get someone over here to actually cook it…

They also deliver to many zip codes in Modesto (though not mine so I just had it delivered to my mom who lives less than half a mile away).
Yea! Just placed my first order on Safeway.com. Got the $20 off! Was impressed with how easy it was to order groceries online. Did notice that the prices weren’t quite as good as in the store.
Curious if you usually tip the guy who delivers the groceries?
Amy they are not allowed to take tips is my understanding. I asked on my first delivery because I felt bad.

Okay so the Vons truck just showed up with my order, but WITHOUT MY TURKEY!!! He said the one I chose was out of stock. I did select the box that said they could substitute but they didn’t for some reason. They still gave me the 20 off even though my order wasn’t 50 without the turkey. But seriously Vons, you are really going to show up the day before Thanksgiving without a turkey??? The driver was pretty embarrassed about it so in good holiday spirit I gave him a hard time 🙂 LOL
So much for not having to brave the grocery store today! Guess I’m packing up the 4 kids and heading out…
