Reader Laury posted an update to the Walmart Olay gift pack deal from a few days ago.
If you missed this deal, Walmart was offering 2 different gift sets- like the ones pictured above- for $10. You need to look for the little logo indicating an Allure magazine rebate on the bottom of the box. If you see it, inside you can either select a free magazine subscription to one of 5 ladies magazines OR you can request a refund of the value of the magazine ($9.99.)
These sold out online very quickly, but if you are inclined to go to Walmart, several readers have found them in the holiday gift sections.
Laury was able to buy 1 at $10
and she purchased a travel size Secret Deodorant .97
She used the $5 off Olay when you buy any Secret from 10/31 P&G
and paid $5.97. Now she can submit for the $9.99 rebate!
So if you want to give it a shot you can! I believe the rebate is one per household- but you might want to double check the form located inside the box after you make your purchase.
I did check for these at Target and did not see them. It might be a Walmart exclusive.
You can see more details about this rebate here.

They have four different gift packs at my walmart today. I got it used the coupon. Everything worked great. Also coupons in the box!

My walmart would not accept the coupon on the gift pack…bummer. I let them keep it.

Some of the packs were $15 at Walmart in Roseville (pleasant grove). Most of them were $10. The coupon worked. It doesn’t specify one per household on either form inside package or online. I’m going to call because I purchased 4.

I found a really cute one at my walmart that had a venus razor in it, which I thought would be perfect for a teen but I forgot to bing my coupon . I guess Im going back tomarrow.
Joanna says
Got it! THanks. The $5 coupon worked and there were a lot of them, three different ones for $10.

Does anyone know how to tell if your request for the 9.99 cash refund went through? I logged on, put in my redemption code and checked the “No thanks” box next to all the magazines. Then I filled in my mailing information and clicked submit. But I’m not sure if it actually went through?! Has anyone checked into this?
Melissa says
I’m curious about that, too. I wonder if saying “No Thanks” just means you’re opting for nothing? Anybody know?
Melissa says
Ooh! I just read the fine print. In order to receive a refund instead of a subscription, you have to MAIL in the form at the end of the website (where it says Name, Address, City, State, Zip), the redemption card from inside the package, and a copy of the receipt. AND, it must be done within 30 days of ordering. Glad I read the fine print. Hope this helps somebody else.

One other thing I’m wondering about… could this count towards the $20 Olay/P&G rebate (when you buy $50 worth)?
Charlene says
Melissa- this should count but the thing is you need original receipts for both so the only way to do it is with a rebate receipt. You’d need to find a cashier than can actually do that- I have never in all my years found a single one- and there is certainly a chance they will refuse a rebate receipt.
Melissa says
I called the Olay/P&G rebate number and talked to them and they said yes… it would count. I asked about a receipt and told them that all I have is the print out that came in the package and she said that would work. So I’m wondering about photo copying it and using it for the other rebate as well. Not to be dishonest or anything, but I don’t think anyone is going to be able to tell the photocopy from the original. I guess I’ll wait and see if I come up with enough other Olay stuff for the rebate without this. Hopefully some more good deals will come up and I won’t need it. Thanks for the input, Charlene! You rock! Hope you have a terrific Christmas!

Melissa, I think it is dishonest to copy your confirmation. Isn’t the item free after rebate?
