I think it’s interesting that there is no mention of the 3% cash back from Ebates, and when I posted a previous comment about it, it seems to have disappeared.
I noticed that this is MFA’s referral link to Horchow, which will probably give store credit to MFA. Obviously if we go through ebates, she won’t get the credit.
While other bloggers mention “This is my referral link, feel free to sign up directly through the site if you’re not comfortable”, I see no mention of that here.
Charlene, I don’t mind signing up through your referral link. But aren’t you trying to get your readers the best deals possible? I’ve always had the utmost respect for this blog, and will still continue to be an avid reader, but this upsets me a little.

Steph- If you feel uncomfortable with my site than no one is forcing you to read it. I approve every comment that comes through unless it is spam or something rude or a link to promote a product. I post Ebates constantly and I just wrote an entire post explaining how to use it. I am only one person. I don’t think people realize how much time it takes to do a post. It can take me an hour to do one single post and I don’t always have time to add every single detail.
I did not delete any comment about Ebates so I have no idea what you are talking about.
Regarding the credit, I will not be getting any store credit to Horchow. But thank you for your concern. FYI- Ebates actually pays a commission so if you are asking about my bottom line it makes more sense for me to suggest that people go through Ebates. I take my site very, very personally. I consider MFA to be a 3rd child actually. These types of comments are deeply upsetting to me. Please go elsewhere and do not leave rude (and false accusations) here.
Steph says
Charlene,
I didn’t mean to sound rude or offend you, and I wouldn’t even mind signing up through your referral link. Maybe there was a misunderstanding about my ebates post being deleted, or it didn’t go through.
Granted, I would rather give us BOTH credit by going through ebates 😉
I was wrong to have posted that comment here. I should’ve sent you an email directly. Just got a little carried away when I saw my original post was lost during moderation.
Apologies,
Steph

Charlene,
Thanks for this post! I was able to get a set of towels for my parents (the people who are hardest for me to buy for). They will love them.
I am happy to shop through any links you provide that will give you a referral credit. You work so hard for us and totally deserve it! I have been able to cut out $200 a month of my food budget just because of you and will be able to afford to buy decent presents for everyone in my family this year, thanks to you!!

Are you flipping serious Steph?? What a nasty and rude comment!! Do you have any gratitude at all for the effort that she puts into this site? I can’t believe you would even say such a nasty thing and it is none of your business if she has personal links or not. Charlene, I wish you were getting credit to Horchow because there is no way I could ever repay you for all the money you have saved me over the past year. And I do see Ebates on this site very regularly so I hardly think she is trying to cheat anyone. I ordered 2 towels- so I would have made .48 by going through Ebates. Who freaking cares. Get a life and go away to leave the rest of us in peace.
You owe her an apology and the rest of us for posting your rudeness here. Get your own blog if you think can do it better than she does.

Well thank you Steph, but I am going to take the rest of the afternoon off. I am sorry but you have me in tears. I put that post up after Zumba, sweating before I had dinner or showered and as I was trying to hurry and spend 5 minutes with my children before bedtime. So please excuse the lack of mention but I was simply in a rush, I was hardly trying to cheat anyone. I will not be adding any disclaimers to my posts. Some things I get commission on and many, many, many I do not. I feel it is tacky to add those and I have a blanket disclosure statement that is clearly posted for everyone to read. It is deeply upsetting to put so much of yourself into something and get constant criticism for not doing a good enough job.
Steph says
I didn’t mean to upset anyone, and I do want to say that my wording was very inappropriate and harsh. I am an avid reader of this blog, and I like posting comments thanking Charlene for the work she has put in (and sharing scenarios that I think would work).
I deserve the responses that I will get, because Charlene didn’t deserve the criticism AND definitely doesn’t deserve to be in tears.
It’s hard to type with my foot so far in my mouth, so I’m just going to say thank you to Charlene for posting this deal. It’s a great deal, whether you go through ebates or not.
Walking away w/my tail between my legs,
Steph

Today the code “welcome” is getting the 20%, the shipping code still works. But the welcome to save one wasn’t. I loved these last year when I got them from your blog. I was hoping they would have them again next year.

I was just going through charges on my credit card and I was charged 35.86 for 2 towels. I went back to the packing slip and the breakdown was: 7.99 for each towel, 2.88 for tax and 17.00 for D&P. What is D&P and do you think there’s any way I can get that refunded? When I ordered them the confirmation of charges screen only indicated the charges for the towels and tax. Ugh! I’m about to call cust. service.
