Oh how fun!! If you hurry you can get a $20 voucher to Build a Bear for $10 today only. This is from Groupon and it doesn’t expire until 12/31- so plenty of time to get those kids in to make bears.
You can use it in store or online and this is available to anyone that wants to purchase nationwide. There is a limit of 1 that you can redeem at a time, but you can buy multiples! They will also offer you the option of purchasing a discounted party at Build a Bear and those don’t expire until March. Just click to buy to get the details on that.
To get this offer just register or log in to Groupon.
Then head over here and you should be able to make your purchase. (Chicago)
As of posting they have already sold several thousand so I don’t know how long this will last!
*This can not be combined with any other offers according to the Groupon page. If you have additional coupons you can certainly try but most likely they will not allow it.

I can’t find this groupon??
Kim says
According to the Groupon website, the party doesn’t expire until March, but the $20 bear expires 12/31/10.
Penny says
I haven’t purchased groupons yet but is there a certain city we need to use to find this deal?
Chrystal Janssen says
Yay!!! I got mine!! Can we use the coupon and the groupon together?
Charlene says
Penny- To make things easy I include the link directly to the page to purchase. If you just click where it says:
“Then head over here and you should be able to make your purchase.”
You will be directed right to it.
Charlene says
Jen- I changed the note to be in bold that says “Then head over here and you should be able to make your purchase.”
I had complaints before that it was too hard to find things when I listed cities so now I link direct. If this is too confusing I don’t know what to do.
Penny says
Thank you! For some reason it took 3 times before the site would work but I did get it. My son loves build a bear, he is going to be very excited!
Jenmom6 says
Groupon really needs to add a “search bar” so that we can just type in the Groupon we’re looking for and it comes up. A bit frustrating. I tried your link…no go. I figured out how to search by city…just need to know what city the Build A Bear is in. Thanks!!!
Charlene says
Ok I need to understand what is happening here. So can you please tell me what happens when you click the link that says “head over here to purchase?” What is it that you see? I am trying to make Groupon deals as seemless as possible and when I click it the deal comes up immediately. I tried 3 computers and 2 browsers so I am utterly baffled.
Tina says
Charlene, thanks so much for posting this. My little girl loves Build-a-bear! This will be a Christmas gift for sure. And as far as the link, it worked perfect, I think people just get excited about a good deal and don’t bother to read the ENTIRE post, and click on the first link they come to. Thanks again!
Charlene says
Tina- I get excited too 🙂 I am just trying to streamline and figure out how to make things super fast and easy so I will go back to the drawing board 😉

JUST ORDERED MINE – IT LET ME ORDER ONE AS A GIFT TOO – BOTH KIDS WILL BE THRILLED!
Stephanie says
I bought one, but I’m tempted to buy like 1 for every child on my gift list. If I can? I need to read the fine print some more… I tried to buy 2, but only bought one, but I’m not sure if that is because there was a limit or because I messed up…
Charlene says
Stephanie- you can buy more than one you just can’t redeem more than one at a time.
I bought 2- one per child- and then I will just go with my husband and he can buy one for Addy and I will buy Maya’s 🙂 I would hate to have to choose which child I liked better that day if they limited it to one.
Stephanie says
🙂 Now I’ve bought 6. We are going to a b-day party next weekend and I’m thinking this is perfect gift. I think I might have to go on my lunch to make bears that we’ll give as gifts.
Erin says
Can someone tell me whether these bears have clothing options with snaps/buttons/zippers/buckles? I was considering buying my son a doll with these items so that it will help with his fine motor skills. But, the outfits I’ve seen at garage sales and consignments have all been mostly velcro.
I’d rather do Buildabear, but not unless the clothes are good for helping him learn how to dress and undress. Thanks!
Charlene says
Stephanie they might not be available until tomorrow. Usually Groupon is a day and then they are in your account. I think this will only get you a basic bear because I have never made one myself but I understand they are expensive when you add all the bells and whistles. I am excited though. The girls will love this 🙂
Stephanie says
Yeah, I’ll be going on my lunch breaks in the coming weeks:-) I did it with my little sister like 5 years ago and I think she built like a $40 bear. I’m thinking the gift bears I make I’ll try to keep the cost down, they have bears that start at $10 to 12, then if you do minimal accessories, it can be done. They give you a nice box/house for the bear so I think kids will be excited to get them. I’m thinking pick out accessories that are things each child likes. Yay! Shopping is well, kind of done for the kids in my family. I would just give the groupons but I have a feeling BAB will be a mad house between Christmas and 12/31…
Charlene says
Erin,
I have the bears in the picture that came as a gift last year. They have the zippers and the jeans happen to be missing right now but I want to say they have buttons. The rest of the clothes are velcro. The only thing is that a super jazzed up bear like the ones in the picture are probably pretty expensive. You can click the Build a Bear link in the post and probably see the prices and styles for the clothing.
@Stephanie- good call. We got those bears with the shoes and the hats and the whole bit and the bears happen to be naked right now 😛 I think the more stuff you add the more stuff they can lose so keep it simple is my plan too.
Stephanie says
I’m almost positive the clothes have snaps and stuff… It’s been a while but if you check out their website they have a lot of clothes and shoes and stuff to choose from. http://www.buildabear.com/shop/browsecategory.aspx?CallingPage=BrowseCategory&Category=Clothing&sc_hpan=tabs&sc_hpdr=tabs_shop
Erin says
I actually just called a local store and they said that most of the buttons/zippers are “fake”. They are just visually made to look like zippers or buttons, but actually they have velcro behind them. She did say they just got some shirts in with snaps, but most items are velcro.
Next time I’m at the mall I’m going to stop in and check for myself. I bet this groupon will come up again soon.
Denise says
FYI before anyone buys the $10 ones…they expire the 31st of DECEMBER…only the $25 ones are available till 2011
Charlene says
Denise- I think that is what the post says. Can you tell me where it is inaccurate so I can correct it?
Charlene says
I don’t know if it will come back around but they often send coupons out- so you can always sign up for emails and wait for a coupon 🙂
Jenmom6 says
Sorry, just getting back to you. When I first clicked on your link it took me to deals in “Washington DC”. I just tried you link again and it took me to the Build A Bear deal in Chicago. Thanks! Maybe it first took me to the last Groupon I viewed. I think posting the link is awesome but maybe if you could notate the city, just in case. I noticed you added that to the post. Thanks again for posting all these great deals!!!!
Kali says
I am also having trouble with the link. When I click the Groupon link, I get a local restaurant and when I check recent deals, there is no BAB in the list. When I click on your “head over here” to make a purchase link, I get a blank page and this in the address bar: http://172.30.219.81:15871/cgi-bin/blockpage.cgi?ws-session=641179072.
Since it isn’t appearing on my Groupon page, could it just be a Chicago thing?
Charlene says
Kai- I don’t know what that is from but it killed my computer when I clicked 🙂 (So no one else try).
Just go to Groupon and click on Chicago. It is available to any retail store in the US. If you have more questions just click the comments on the Groupon page and I am sure they have the answers.
