A Christmas Carol is released today and here are a few deals you can look for. There is a $10 off A Christmas Carol coupon but it is for the 4 pack Blu Ray Combo Pack. So be careful because the 4 disk pack is more expensive than the regular Blu Ray combo pack.
TARGET:
DVD $16.99
Blu Ray Combo Pack (4 Disk) $29.99
Use $10/1 printable
Final price: $19.99
*Plus there is an overlapping deal at Target- buy a roaster or buffet server and a turkey get a $15 gift card. PLUS if you buy a Butterball Turkey and this movie you get a $10 rebate. Check out the Target deals for the week for more details on how to work this promotion.
TOYS R US:
As usual this is the most complicated. There are several overlapping promotions that seem to be working. Keep in mind Toys R Us can be tricky because each store will basically make up their own rules. You can try this but I can’t promise it will work for everyone.
Blu Ray Combo Pack (4 Disk) $28.99
Use $10/1 printable
There is also a promotion to get a $10 gift card when you spend $40 in Disney movies.
Plus there is a coupon in the Disney Magical Savings booklet for $5 off when you buy A Christmas Carol and one other Disney movie (this booklet is on display at my store or I told you about it here.)
So this is just one idea:
Buy Christmas Carol at $28.99
Buy 2nd Disney Movie for $14.99
Subtotal: $43.98
Use $10/1 coupon
and Use $5/1 from Magical Savings Coupon book
Final Price: $28.98 for 2 plus get a $10 gift card back.

What other great deals did you find?

You can still do the rebates for the turkey if bought at TRU, right?

I would like to do the TRU deal, but wonder what movies would be 14.99? aren’t most Disney movies 19.99?
Charlene says
You will have to go and look. I have seen DVDs there for $9.99, $12.99, $14.99 and $19.99 just depending on the title. The coupon says a movie valued at $14.99 or above so I used that price. I am pretty sure they have Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movies for $14.99 and $17.99.

My TRU didn’t have the 4 disc edition, and then couldn’t tell me if they would be getting it or not. 🙁

Last night my husband and I ventured out to our local walmart to pick up our copy of A Christmas carol. I scaned the bar code to check the price and it was $35. TRU ad gave a price of $35 and ours doesn’t price match on anything but baby gear. Anyway we called another store 8 miles north of where store 1 was. The girl answered the phone in the electronics department and told me the price was $28 we were very clear that it was the four disc edition we wanted. So we thought ok we’ll get it from that walmart instead. We get there and it’s been 1:18 and see the same girl who answered the phone. So she comes back 20 mintues later and says “we don’t have A Christmas STORY…. They did have that title actually… And I tell her no we’re looking for A Christmas CAROL… So she goes in the back and comes back with the dvd and the dvd/bluray combo pack. After being “helped” by this person for 45 minutes we go to a manager then directed to go tell another manager and then another.
So it turns out they didn’t have the movie. they wanted to give us the dvd/bluray at a $8 discount but that wasn’t what we wanted so we left and went to the original store and in my tiredness and anger after everything that went on at the 2nd store I forgot to price match.
I get home then discover a defect with the 2d blu ray disc. This is not good 🙁

My TRU didn’t have the 4 disc version either. They did have a sign posted saying it was for $28.99 but the 2 disc versions were there. Grrr. They had NO CLUE. TRU always has great deals offered but it is like pulling teeth to actually get them. They refused to do a rain check, no clue why it didn’t come in or when they would get it. They called another TRU and they didn’t have it either. At the end of a 45 minute ordeal I basically got a “I don’t know what to tell you.” and that was that. I bought 2 at Target instead. Paid $19.99 each after the coupon. TRU would have been better, $28.99 each minus $20 in disney coupons, minus the $5 off 2 TRU coupon, plus the $10 gift card for spending $40 on Disney. I would have only paid $16.49 each and had the $10 gift card. Oh, well, what can you do? My faith in TRU is fading fast. It’s such a dissapointment when a deal doesn’t come through.
Okay I’m done venting!!! 🙂

Christen, Don’t open those movies yet if you can. Next week the Target ad will have a $5 off Disney movies coupon in it. I am posting this tomorrow morning. So if they don’t sneak the price up on us, you can get the movie for $15.

Charlene, I was in Target today and asked about the Christmas Carol 3D price for next week. The guy in electronics said that it is $36.99 regular price. Then he offered to write me a raincheck for the sale. I wasn’t looking to purchase one today, but apparently they ran out already and are giving out rainchecks even though they aren’t supposed to. So I’m going to use that to purchase it next week with the $5 off Target and $10 off man. coupon. Then I will return the other one I bought Tuesday. I should try to get another raincheck so I can return both copies.
I’m still mad at Toys r US. I called today and they still don’t have it in stock, plus it is gone from the website. Weird. I just wish someone had a clue as to what is going on there. I was going to pick up Santa Paws next week and Fantasia after that with the TRU coupons, man coupons, and the $10 gift card with $40 purchase of Disney, TRU is the best place to get the movies this holiday, but I don’t know if it is worth all the frustration!

You know I rented it from Redbox and I am glad I didn’t buy. It was a little much for my 3yo to watch. For older kids it is better.
