Here is one other idea for the freebies that are offered by Vista Print right now.
They have 250 free business cards available. If you don’t need business cards, you can also make little gift cards as well.
I made the one above and then you can just hole punch it and attach it with ribbon to your gift. I think these are especially great if you give lots of homemade gifts. You can write out recipes or any instructions for the gift. One year I gave bottles of wine to my husband’s co-workers and I included some menu pairing ideas on the cards and tied them to the bottles.
You can also make little business or contact cards. These can come in handy just with your personal information to give out for playdates or instead of filling out forms at the doctor’s office and whatnot.
Just head over to Vista Print and you can get 250 for free. You will need to pay for shipping- for me it was about $5. Also it looks like they will include the Vistaprint.com URL on the back of your card in black and white. You can pay $2 more and have that removed.
Thanks for the great idea Annye!

After spending 3 days of trying to place an order with Vistaprint at the promotional price (which keeps changing by the hour), and a heated telephone conversation with what they call customer service, I decided to investigate this company. As it turns out, the Better Business Bureau is quite busy fielding complaints about them, not the least of which involves unathorized credit card charges and sharing of credit card information with 3rd parties. I am soooo incredibly thankful I did not place that order Friday night! I would advise readers to not do business with this company.

Thanks for sharing your concerns Jennifer. I have not had a complaint about them yet and I have posted stuff for about 2 years now. I will keep your experience in mind for future posts. I know I have done many transactions with them and never had an issue- what a shame yours worked out so badly.

I just received my first order from Vistaprint and am really impressed with the quality, so much so I’m working on another order right now! Thanks for recommending them, Charlene!
But to address Jennifer’s concerns:
One way to protect ourselves from this (and many other on-line companies) is to pay via PayPal. That way, they don’t have my credit card information to share, and if I notice any unauthorized charges, I can dispute it with PayPal and my credit card company — two lines of defense!
I really don’t foresee any problems, but better safe than sorry, right?
