How to Train Your Dragon is coming out tomorrow on DVD. I have had a few requests for deals on this movie and thought I’d post what I have found (which is not much actually). So if anyone else has spotted a great deal please let us know! I am not aware of any coupons for this movie.
AMAZON: The DVD is priced at $16.99 and the Blu Ray at $22.99. You will also receive a $4 credit for Amazon Video on Demand with your purchase! Shipping is free with Prime or a $25 purchase.
Both Walmart and Target have the movies at the same prices but shipping is not free. Amazon usually works out to be a better deal because they don’t charge tax in 45 states.
NEXT WEEK: CVS will have the DVD for $9.99 is you spend $20 on Hershey’s candy. Even with a $4/20 CVS coupon I don’t think this is that great of a deal.
SAFEWAY STORES: There is a decent deal if you happen to shop at any of the Safeway Family of stores that I posted in the weekly Safeway Deals.
Update:
There is a rebate available from Real Simple magazine when you buy the double pack DVD movie at Target stores. Personally I would not base your purchase on getting this rebate because I have submitted these to Real Simple in the past and not received a check. But if it does come, this is the deal:
Buy the Double DVD pack for $22.99 at Target
October 15th and November 12th, shoppers can send the original receipt or a photocopy of the receipt with the DVD purchase circled, along with their name and address on a 3″ by 5″ card, to the following address:
- Real Simple, Smart Shopping GiftCard Offer
- c/o DW Direct
- P.O. Box 5067
- South Hackensack, NJ 07606
The $5 rebate will be issued in the form of a Target gift card, to all qualifying respondents who have their submissions postmarked by November 13, 2010. The $5 Target gift card will take between 6 to 8 weeks to be mailed. So that would make the double pack $17.99.
Thanks San Antonio Examiner!

What about the Safeway deal which is $16.99 with the free popcorn, 2 boxes of Kraft mac n cheese and the Izze drinks? That sounds pretty great to me, we bought our Beauty and the Beast there last week. . .
Oh thanks Megan- I had the page open to link back to that and then I forgot 😛
Also, our Best Buy ad had a deal where you can buy the combo pack for $17.99, and you get a free movie ticket to see, “MegaMind.”
Melissa the movie ticket is for kid
Charlene: I found a $5 Target mail-in rebate for the double-DVD pack through November 12. Here’s the info: http://www.examiner.com/budget-events-in-san-antonio/target-rebate-available-on-how-to-train-your-dragon-dvd-purchase
Hope it helps!
I’m planning on doing the Safeway deal when it comes out tomorrow! I think that is the best if there’s no coupon to use!
