Well Toys R Us was nice enough to do the matchups for me this week. (Um.. Walgreens, can you please do the same?)
Here are a few deals- and by the way. For those that had issues using coupons on the TinkerBell deal- the ad shows using these exact coupons clear as day. So hopefully you won’t have any problems!
Iron Man 2 Rocket Boost $14.99
Use $5 off toy coupon
Final Price: $9.99
My Little Pony Plane or Convertible $14.99
Use $5/1 toy coupon
Final Price: $9.99
And a lucky few received a special insert in the Sunday paper yesterday with more coupons. (I did not get it).
If you did see the insert, you can do the following:
Strawberry Shortcake Berry Cruiser $14.99
Use $10/1 Playsaver coupon from the 9/26 insert
Final Price: $4.99
Littlest Pet Shop 2pk Collectible $4.12
Use Buy One Get One Free from 9/26 insert
Final Price: $2.06 per 2 pack!
Anyone else spot a great deal this week?

I sent an e-mail to TRU. I live in Ohio and they refuse to let me use internet based coupons but when their ad is telling me to go to Playsaver.com I’m hoping they will allow internet coupons. I am going to wait for them to respond first. I would hate to get there and find out I still can’t use them. I’ll let you know what I find out incase anyone else has issues.
Charlene says
Jen- you might also point out to them the mention of using a $10 coupon on the Tinkerbell as well. So frustrating how no one seems to have a clue really.
Nicole says
I must say I had a really pleasant experience with my Tinkerbell purchase. The girl didn’t know what to do but she asked someone to help her, and they scanned the coupons, double checked to make sure they all came off and told “Well done!” I wish they were all like that!

i’ve been on the look out for scooters for my kids and i noticed the character scooters were on sale this week for $23.99. does anyone know if that’s a good value? do they get any cheaper closer to the holidays?
Charlene says
Rachelle- there is a chance. I am not 100% on the return policy but I wonder if you can tuck it away with the receipt and return if you find a better deal? We got a scooter for $6 on clearance at Target:

Target does a toy clearance in October and there is a slight chance you could get a better deal- but I actually think this is more sporting goods so I just don’t know.
Rachelle R says
thanks charlene! i think i’ll give that a try and my TRU didn’t have any more of the strawberry shortcake berry cruiser so I walked next door to Target and did a price match. great toy deal!

Thanks for posting this. The day before this ad came out my TRU would not let me use the play saver coupons I had on a glow worm and few others. They said that they didn’t except coupons on items that were already on sale, because the coupon said it couldn’t be combined with other offers. This ad clearly says they do and even encourages it. The manager was actually a little nasty, like I was trying to be shady. I am keeping this ad FOREVER and next time I have a problem I am going to show it to them. Sorry…just had to vent.
Joanna says
It looks like the board games are 7.99 and up and we can still use the $5 off and $4 off, right.
Charlene says
I think the $5/25 expired?
Jen says
My update from TRU, I was emailed back by a representative who said she would forward my request which would be resolved in 3-5 business days, basically after the sale is over.
Jen says
My final report, I went to TRU on lunch because I had the inserts in the paper. I asked the cashier and she says as long as it is advertised in the ad showing the internet coupon, they will accept the coupon, otherwise they will not accept any other internet coupons. Hope this helps!
MMcKenna says
The problem was their system and the gift card, not the coupon. Unfortunately the cashiers are confused about what the problem was and it seems some of the managers or upper managerment of the stores (or even the franchise owners, because the one near us was owned by a franchise, not sure if it still is) is telling them to not accept them to avoid “problems”. They are forgetting the whole reimbursement part of it as well, because some people were told no coupons at all. Well that’s just sill!!
Really they are creating problems and turning away business. They are not realizing that I’m not just buying a movie for cheap. I will not buying anything if can’t use coupons.
My problem was 100% their system not being able to process a coupon taking down the value so low in conjunction with the gift card. It then took the value of the gift card down. It wouldn’t let me have both. That is when the cashier I had began getting fresh and suggested I should just forfeit the gift card because I can’t get the movie for free. I ended up paying too much, going back, and talking to the manager. Eventually they figured out a way to “trick” the system. But it made them not want to deal with gift cards or coupons. When they called tech support, they wanted them to email them the problem. The store thought that was pointless and too much work. So they hung up. Ok that doesn’t help get anything resolved. So don’t expect anything to be better anytime soon. I hope it is, but I’m not holding my breath 🙂

Does anyone know if you can use more then one coupon in a price match at Target? I’d like to get a couple of the Littlest Pet Shop toys and a couple sets of the Strawberry Shortcake Cruisers/Sweet Styles…and I just happen to have a couple coups for each. Thanks!
Charlene says
Brandi- at TRU the policy is different for every single person that walks through the door it seems. I would for sure try it and you probably have a good shot. Some readers had a terrible time recently using coupons and some were told they can not use printables. You can always call ahead and see what happens or just give it a whirl in store. Let us know how it goes for you!
Jen says
If anyone gives you grief, print this out and take it in, it’s from Toys R Us.

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for e-mailing us your concerns regarding the PlaySaver.com coupons. As these are coupons that are advertised in our ad for download and use, you should have no problems using them in-store. Or policy in regards to internet coupons have not changed, but an exception has been made for these coupons as we advertised them. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that this has or may cause you.
Thank you again, Jennifer, for contacting the “R” Us Family, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
The “R” Us Team

The TRU in Santa Maria, California is amazing!!! By now they know me, but they have always been so happy to take coupons and enjoy seeing the great deals.
Lori says
OK, great, so their Internet coupon policy has not changed. But, WHAT IS THAT POLICY???
Charlene says
Lori I don’t think they have a coupon policy. For chains that don’t regularly get coupons they probably are not going to take the time or resources to create something like that. We still don’t have a published coupon policy for CVS and they deal with them all day everyday.
