We are kicking off a week of giveaways with all sorts of fantastic items for kids of all ages.  You will have tons of chances to win some great products starting with a Dell Inspirion 14R laptop!  Whoo hoo!

I got to test drive this laptop last week at Blogher.  I received a sample for review and decided to to take it on my trip.  The first thing that I noticed about the laptop is the dynamic colors.  There are four colors to choose from and I received the red laptop and it really does look so much jazzier than my current laptop.

The computer has a retail value of $480 and it measures about 15″.  My current laptop is 17″ so this was a bit of a change for me.  I thought a smaller keyboard would bother me and I hardly noticed the change at all.  It was so much easier to take along than my big laptop. What I really liked was the ease of the keyboard.  My current laptop requires me to basically thump away at the keys and the Dell was super quiet and easy to use.  One thing I did have to get used to was the mouse which I found to be a little more sensitive.  You can also get the Inspiron in 14 inches or 17 inches and the 14″ will be the one for giveaway.

The computer is loaded with Windows 7 which also took some getting used too but it is incredibly fast.  I was especially thrilled with the super long battery life- which is over 5 hours.

Some models also have up to 640GB hard disk drives- so you can store tons of pictures, videos and music and there is a built in webcam.  I think this would be a perfect laptop for a high school or college student and it held up well to a lot of abuse from yours truly.

    I would love a pink one. Once, before they made snazzy colored laptops I spray painted mine pink. I would love another pink puter.

    I would pick the red one. The blue is beautiful, but my husband would be all over it. I think with red I might be safe (he works in IT so it’s not easy to keep him away from any of my electronics). 😉

    I would have to go with the blue. Everyone in our family loves the color blue. Pink would be a bit feminine for my son and husband to ever use. And red and black are a bit too common. Blue would be perfect.

    With the array of colors, Dell is able to satisfy my need to be an individual. My favorite color is green, so the green laptop will be a great pairing with all my green things.
