We are kicking off a week of giveaways with all sorts of fantastic items for kids of all ages.  You will have tons of chances to win some great products starting with a Dell Inspirion 14R laptop!  Whoo hoo!

I got to test drive this laptop last week at Blogher.  I received a sample for review and decided to to take it on my trip.  The first thing that I noticed about the laptop is the dynamic colors.  There are four colors to choose from and I received the red laptop and it really does look so much jazzier than my current laptop.

The computer has a retail value of $480 and it measures about 15″.  My current laptop is 17″ so this was a bit of a change for me.  I thought a smaller keyboard would bother me and I hardly noticed the change at all.  It was so much easier to take along than my big laptop. What I really liked was the ease of the keyboard.  My current laptop requires me to basically thump away at the keys and the Dell was super quiet and easy to use.  One thing I did have to get used to was the mouse which I found to be a little more sensitive.  You can also get the Inspiron in 14 inches or 17 inches and the 14″ will be the one for giveaway.

The computer is loaded with Windows 7 which also took some getting used too but it is incredibly fast.  I was especially thrilled with the super long battery life- which is over 5 hours.

Some models also have up to 640GB hard disk drives- so you can store tons of pictures, videos and music and there is a built in webcam.  I think this would be a perfect laptop for a high school or college student and it held up well to a lot of abuse from yours truly.

    I love ALL the colors but Lotus pink is my absolutely favorite. We would be SO blessed to win this. My 3 year old son was hospitalized last year and part of this year with a life threatening chronic blood disorder. (aplastic anemia) It was really hard being in the hospital not being able to update friends and family. I REALLY wish I had a laptop at the time to update our prayer requests and blog. This would be SUCH a huge blessing to us, most especially if we need to be hospitalized again in the future! There is no possible way we can afford one right now! Thanks, Alida w5
