I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago. A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.
When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped. Literally. And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived. Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day. We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals. We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.
So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time. Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!
So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days. Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad. I found the Floormate did an amazing job. It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly. The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up. To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate. It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have. The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up. This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use. Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!
We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been. I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free. Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do. Overall I have really loved this machine. If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier. For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.
The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty. You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.
This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

I am with you on cleaning the bathroom…it is just horrible!
It sounds silly because it’s not difficult, but unloading the dishwasher makes me miserable.
My favorite chore is doing laundry! 🙂

My least favorite chore is doing the dishes. Everyday there are more!!!
I hate dusting!
I hate dusting!!!
My least favorite chore is actually vacuuming, because my vacuum is an old, heavy one that needs to be replaced.
My least favorite chore to do is actually vacuuming. Truly…I hate getting out the vaccum and lugging it upstairs only to be met with dust (hair, etc etc) that comes from a “wonderful” cleaning machine. I wish I could snap my fingers and it would be done for me! 🙂

I hate to dust the blinds. Sometimes I think it would be easier to buy new ones everytime! 🙂
I hate scrubbing the floors!
I hate doing the dishes!!
I hate to lift the couch cushions to clean…I have 8 kids with a severe “Trash Can” phobia! I can’t think of any better excuse for why they insist on using the recesses of the couch to stash their trash!
I pretty much hate all cleaning, but my least favorite is the dishes! It makes it worse since we’ve been 3 weeks without a dishwasher, but we’ll have a new one next week! I would love to try this floormate out as I have two of the messiest boys in the world!
I hate cleaning the floors–an endless job!!!!
I just subscribed to your emails…..and I’m a fan on Facebook.
My least favorite chore? Unloading the dishwasher and putting away folded clothes. . . and mopping the floors, because I too have a 1 year old with a creative-throwing problem. Thanks!!
I LIKE you on Facebook too!! Another chore I hate- dusting. . .
I follow you on facebook!!
I hate to empty the dishwasher!
My least favorite household chore would be tied between mopping the floor and cleaning the shower!
I hate ALL housework, but I would say dishes are the worst – it’s a never ending job
Bathrooms would be my least favorite – especially the shower. And the toilet. And the floor. And the sink. Yeah – pretty much the whole bathroom.
I loathe the tri-fecta of sweeping, vacuuming and then swiffer-wet-jetting our home of hardwood floors. We have a dog that sheds. Sheds is an understatement. Ther are little mini doghair bunnies running rampent around our house! As soon as you finish cleaning, they are back taunting me.
WOW I would love to win one of these, it would sure beat the broom and mop 🙂
I hate to mop floors! I think because I have to ALL day long.

I hate hate hate to do dishes. I don’t have a dishwasher so I get to do them by hand and my family doesn’t know how to rinse things off or reuse the same cup 🙂 I also REALLY hate to sweep and mop I have a 3 year old and somehow she is like a tornado and manages to destroy the floor with her food and crafts!
