I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago. A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.
When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped. Literally. And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived. Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day. We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals. We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.
So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time. Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!
So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days. Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad. I found the Floormate did an amazing job. It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly. The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up. To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate. It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have. The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up. This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use. Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!
We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been. I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free. Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do. Overall I have really loved this machine. If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier. For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.
The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty. You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.
This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

By far my least favorite chore is cleaning my hardwood floors. Practically my entire house is hardwood floors! I procrastinate all the time! I would love to have this vacuum! I may actual like cleaning the floors!
The chore I hate the most is the floors! I have 3 dogs and a man at home. All of our floors are hard surfaces and it gets pretty overwhelming. I have been searching for the right dry and wet product but am hesitant to commit since I’ve been through a lot of products and its been a waste of money. Thank you for your post on the Hoover Floormate. I’m a fan on Facebook at Twitter!
I hate dusting!
I’d love to win this for my mom – she needs a new vacuum!

I subscribe to your newsletter, I even got referred a few friends to you. Love all the hard work you do! 🙂
Scrubbing the bathtub is my all time least favorite job. My 3 year old son likes to watch me clean it so I told him to pay attention, as soon as he can scrub you better believe it’ll be his job 🙂
I love your site – check it daily! Thanks!
I hate putting laundry away. No problem folding, just getting it all put in the correct rooms.
I follow you on Facebook. Thanks for your great information.
I don’t like dusting. yick.
my lease favorite chore is vacuuming!!!!!!!!!
This would be a great for me and my home. It would be nice to have one machine that would mop and vacumn.
I like U on FB.
My least favorite chore is cleaning up after our animals. Its the four cats and dog they have lovingly rescued. Kitty litter boxes, kennels and using lots of vinegar to keep a clean fresh smelling house.
I hate to clean my kitchen and bath floors, so this would be perfect. When I do, to get them clean I’m usually on my hands and knees with a bucket so, anything that can do a good job and not require the effort, would be great in my book. My 4 yr old loves to help too, which is why I put off doing them, until the rare nap occasion.

I could really use one of these! My absolute least favorite chore is cleaning the laundry room floor. I keep the litter boxes for my cats in there, so there’s always litter being scattered across it from them getting out & streaking across the room, not to mention the mess one of my kitties makes because she refuses to use the litter boxes! Yuck!

Big fan. I receive your email newsletter.
Happy day to whoever wins! I’m a facebook fan.
I have to say that with a husband and 2 small kids, my least favorite is laundry . . . IT NEVER ENDS. But after that, I am with you on the nasty kitchen floor with food all over it from a 1 and 3 year old.
I am a Facebook Fan!
I already get your newsletter/updates emailed to me daily!
My least favorite household chore is cleaning the back entry way to our house. Having teenagers who leave multiple pairs of shoes and drag in all kinds of outside stuff (grass, sand, dirt, etc.) is a daily challenge. Having this in my arsenal of cleaning tools would be awesome!
Oh boy, do I hate that tile shower! I am a cleaning maniac, but just can’t seem to make myself want to clean it… ever!
