I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago. A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.
When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped. Literally. And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived. Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day. We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals. We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.
So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time. Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!
So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days. Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad. I found the Floormate did an amazing job. It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly. The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up. To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate. It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have. The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up. This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use. Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!
We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been. I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free. Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do. Overall I have really loved this machine. If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier. For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.
The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty. You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.
This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

Any chore is my enemy… sad to say. The least favorite has to be mopping the floor. I could really use a fancy shmancy machine like you got. Thanks for the opportunity.
Joanna
any chore is bad… moping the floors and cleaning the bathrooms are the worst!
I have five kids and my bathrooms are always a mess. I hate cleaning the bathroom the most! I have a large master bathroom and I’d love to try out this machine on that floor!

My worst chore is dusting. So much so, that I got rid of most of my knick knacks. That’s bad….
I hate cleaning the bathroom in general- the toilets specifically!
With a baby boy who likes to throw his food on the floor… great way to clean it up is with this nice vacuum… Thanks!

Omgooddness, you have alot of “weeding” to do for this one!
1- I think I hate cleaning floors. I have not found the right tool yet and the dog, as you know is SUPER fluffy. Dog hair accumulates so fast!

I hate to clean my kids’ rooms. You know it is such a ‘joy’ to find all the things they hide under their beds – mystery objects, etc. We have a no food in the bedroom rule – so they try to ‘get one over on mom’ every chance they can.
Oh goodness I have the same issues with my kids! Thanks for the great review and giveaway!
I hate cleaning the kitchen floor, too. I’ll admit you clean yours, far more often than I clean mine. Kudos to you!

I like you on FB.
I like you on facebook! …and I have a 9 mo old that is readily giving messes now, I can’t imagine when he’s able to eat larger finger foods!
I could really use a new vaccuum! A part broke on mine and so far has been unreplaceable – the company doesn’t manufacturer or sell that particular part, and I can’t even find it on eBay (where you can find almost anything). We don’t have the money yet to replace it completely. With two babies under 2, a good vacuum is pretty important! The chore I actually hate the most is dusting, because dust gets EVERYWHERE, and you usually have to pickup all the little knick-knacks to get around them and into all the little cracks and corners.. ugh – it drives me nuts!
I hate doing the floors. Most of the time I have to do it, but occasionally DH will do it for me! This would be a great help.
I subscribe to you via google reader- I’m sorry, my inbox is just too flooded these days
With three boys, a husky dog, and a cat I really could use this 🙂

Cleaning the floors anywhere in the house is my least favorite! We have tile, laminate and hardwood and they never look clean!
