I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago. A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.
When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped. Literally. And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived. Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day. We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals. We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.
So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time. Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!
So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days. Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad. I found the Floormate did an amazing job. It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly. The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up. To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate. It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have. The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up. This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use. Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!
We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been. I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free. Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do. Overall I have really loved this machine. If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier. For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.
The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty. You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.
This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

I hate doing the laundry!
I subscribe to your newsletter, and love it!
Ugh, I don’t think my original comment went through! My least favorite rooms to clean are our bathrooms! They hardly ever get a thorough cleaning! That and I am about to begin feeding my soon to be 9 month old (6 months old adjusted age) and I can only imagine the messes she is going to create! If I won this it would make my day! 🙂
I don’t like cleaning at all really! I’d have to say the floors because I too have a one year old that throws food on the floor and constantly clean it (sort of.)
Cleaning the bathroom is my least favorite for sure! I would love to just bring in my power washer and hose the bathrooms down!
I follow you on Facebook faithfully! lol
I can’t stand to clean the bathroom floors. This sounds like a dream come true!
I absolutely loathe washing the dishes. I remember as a child my mother would have me wash the dished and if she found one dish dirty she would make me rewash everything. Ugh!!! But now I have my own girls who I can pass this chore too.:)
My least favorite chore is putting laundry away!

my least favorite chores are cleaning the floors and bathrooms
My least favorite chore is cleaning my tile floors. They sound easy to clean, but nothing works really well, except getting down on your hands and knees and scrubbing. I can count on my two hands the number of times I have done this in the last five years of living here. I will rethink textured next time. Now with a crawler/beginning walker they need a deep cleaning.
I hate the bathroom and doing dishes!!!! It never ends!

My least favorite chore is a toss up between the laundry for a family of five, and cleaning the bathrooms. (More specifically the tile floors that never really seem like they are getting clean!)
I would have to say cleaning the hardwood floors!

I subscribe to your newsletter, its great! I hate cleaning and the floors are the worst!!
I’m getting the newsletter now too. I’d LOVE to have this to clean up the wood floors after my messy baby, 2 year-old, and 3 year-old!
I love washing clothes, but hate, hate, hate folding and putting them away. I also hate putting out the trash. My pickup is Monday and I get a sense of doom around 7:00 Sunday when I know it’s time.
Least favorite chore dishes, favorite cooking …. hmmmm

I don’t like putting folded clothes away – they tend to sit in piles for about a week 🙂
I’m with you – bathroom cleaning is not on my top 10 list!
My least favorite household chore….cleaning the toilets!
Laundry is the chore that I hate most. Keeping the clothes wrinkle free and stain free is stressful to me. I Follow you on FB.

Holy Moly! I also hate the bathroom. So I made a deal with my room-mates- If they clean the bathroom (esp. the toilet), I’ll clean the kitchen on a regular basis! =D
My least favorite chore is cleaning the toilets! I am the only girl in the house with my husband and two little boys so it is quite a challenge. I would love to win this!
I HATE to put away laundry! I absolutely dread it!
