I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago. A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.
When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped. Literally. And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived. Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day. We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals. We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.
So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time. Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!
So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days. Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad. I found the Floormate did an amazing job. It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly. The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up. To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate. It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have. The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up. This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use. Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!
We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been. I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free. Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do. Overall I have really loved this machine. If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier. For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.
The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty. You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.
This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

the bathroom is the worst, b/c well as humans we are generally messy and leave things behind. I usually save the shower for a once a year type of thing

2 things i hate the most… putting away clothes and clenaing bathroom floors!!
I dislike scrubbing the floors too.
My least favorite chore is emptying the dishwasher. After that it would be finding lost items…looking for things drives me crazy! So, organization (and cleanliness) are key 🙂 Hope I win…very fixed income, 3 children and a daycare business and lots of hardwood floors to clean! Thanks!
My least favorite chore would be mopping the floors in the kitchen and bathrooms!!!

Mine is doing laundry, I seem to ignore it and by the time I notice it it’s too late.
My least favorite chore is cleaning the bathroom (the shower is the worst!) Second would be the kitchen floor. Yuck!
My least fave chore is DEF folding laundry and then carrying it all upstairs and putting it away! My poor family dresses off the living room couch half the time! 🙂

My least favorite household chore is cleaning anything (floors, bathroom)

I’m right there with you on the bathroom. It never seems to get clean enough and I don’t have enough muscle to scrub. A close 2nd is washing dishes. I don’t have a dishwasher, so it’s always a pain.

This would be a dream! My vacuum just died on me. I have a german shepard who sheds like no other and I have a sloppy husband who does not know how to bend over and spot clean when he drops something on the floor.

I must say, I love my little kitty but my absolute least fav thing to do is clean her little room (spare closet she took over lol) I have to vacuum in there a few times a day…

My least favorite chore is cleaning bathrooms, especially the shower!
Bathrooms for me, too. We have an old fiberglass shower surround and I hate that thing! No matter how much I clean it, it still looks dingy.

I’m still using the mini vacuum my mom bought me for my college dorm room because we can’t afford anything for ourselves with all the new baby expenses! I would love one of these.
My least favorite chore: scrubbing the shower, I can deal with the rest of the bathroom
