Here are the CVS for Beginners ideas for this week thanks to $30 Weekly Grocery Challenge. It is a pretty good week for CVS but remember it is only a deal if you can use the products or donate the items. Read more about CVS right HERE and HERE!
Transaction #1
Buy 1 Complete Multi-Purpose Solution $8.99
Pay $8.99
Get Back $8.99 ECBs
Final Cost: free (Be sure to look for coupons on the actual boxes, you can use those to make a profit on this transaction!)
If you want to use the ECBs from the first transaction to get more items try this:
Transaction #2
Buy 1 Clairol Natural Instincts or Loving Care Hair Color $5.99
Buy 2 Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner $2.99 each
Buy 1 Colgate Total Defense or Enamel Strength Toothpaste $2.99
Buy 1 Stride Shift Gum $0.99
Use $3/1 coupon from 4/4 P&G insert (hair color)
Use $3/2 coupon from 3/7 P&G insert (pantene)
Use $0.75/1 coupon from 3/28 SmartSource insert (Colgate)
Use $8.99 ECBs from transaction #1
Pay: $0.21 + tax
Get Back $6.99 ECBs
So in summary you will have spent $8.99 + .21 (not including tax) for all those items. Then you will have $6.99 back to use next time.
Now to do separate transactions all you need to do is ask the cashier to ring you up in two transactions. If the store is quite busy you might consider doing one transaction and then going to the end of the line for your second.
My CVS won’t let us do two transactions back to back and they won’t let me use ECB’s from one transaction to another the same day. They also won’t let me use two of the same type of coupon for buying two different items. Is yours that way?
No Marianne I have literally 5 or so to choose from within a few miles and they all couldn’t be more accomodating. Is there any chance you can find a different store? Yours sounds awful.
Thanks for giving the transactions it makes it really easier to shop at CVS!!
Thanks for your comment, Charlene. There isn’t another CVS for at least 90 miles away. We live in a small town and there is only one CVS. The manager got mad today because I did two different transactions in the same day and not back to back. It is very frustrating sometimes. There are some great things to living in a smaller town, but there are drawbacks when it comes to shopping. I wish we had a store that doubled coupons. Our prices are always higher than what the computer says for Walmart and Target. I am so grateful for all your work to help me save some money, even though it is more of a challenge!
There is a printable coupon for the Complete Multipurpose Solution here: http://www.completecomfort.ca/register.php
Marianne, I think you should send an e-mail to CVS.com about your store. I did about one of the stores in my area (I have a really great store), and they responded back with a personal e-mail thanking me for my comments. It could help you at your store.
