Safeway Shoppers: Super Cheap TP & Paper Towels Through 3/2 Only!

charminWell this happens to be thrilling news for me.  It is SO DIFFICULT to get a reasonable price on TP and if you hurry on over to Safeway you can get the price best I have ever seen through tomorrow (3/2) only!

There is an overlapping promotion.  The big packs of Charmin (24 double rolls) are on sale for $12.99.  These are part of the Buy 2 get them for $9.99 each promotion that is running.  PLUS these seem to be triggering the $10 catalina when you spend $25 in Proctor and Gamble items. The P&G catalina ENDS 3/2 which is what makes this such a good deal.

charmin tp

It seems the $25 is calculated based upon the $12.99 price!  So here is what the math looks like:

Buy 2 at $12.99- price will automatically adjust to $9.99.
Then add the $3 off P&G e-coupon HERE to your card (these work exactly like the Cellfire coupons and come off right when you swipe your card)
Then Use (2) of the .25/1 from the 2/7 P&G
Final Price: $16.48 + tax

THEN you should get a catalina back for $10 off your next transaction. So the net price is just $6.48 for 2 monster packs of TP or .13 per roll!

As an added bonus you can also add the .50 off U Promise coupon to your account!

If you haven’t paid attention to sale prices on TP recently a regular sale price on a double roll TP is usually .50 or more so this is less than half what you normally pay.

UPDATED: The Bounty 15 roll double pack of paper towels are also included.  So you can mix and match the paper towels and TP.  The Bounty also has a $3 off P&G ecoupon plus a .25/1 from the 2/7 P&G.  So if you buy 1 Charmin and 1 Bounty at $9.99 each it looks like this:

$9.99 x 2= $19.98
-$3 Bounty ecoupon
-$3 Charmin ecoupon
– .25 Charmin coupon
-.25 Bounty coupon
Grand Total is $13.48 and get a $10 catalina back! Whoo hoo!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:  Make sure the price of these items before all the sales is $25 or more.  So the price here is $12.99 for Bounty or Charmin and buy 2 get them for $9.99.  You must have $25 or more BEFORE the $9.99 discount for the catalina to print. If yours are priced at $11.99 you need to find another product that is included in the Procter and Gamble promotion to get the $10 catalina.  Some products include: Febreze, Swiffer, Glade, Iams etc..

Don’t forget these qualify for the P&G rebate booklet HERE.

Thanks Sarah, Bargain Blessings and  Save at Home Mommy!

Don’t forget the Bounty! Buy the Bounty with the Charmin because it has a $3 PG ecoupon also. Awesome!

    03/01/2010 at 10:31 PM

I don’t see the P&G ecoupon, what zip did you use?

  3. michelle says

    03/01/2010 at 10:48 PM

Hmmm, I tried the P & G thing, it keeps saying that there are no coupons available in my area and I think that I live in your neck of the woods (Sac).

I just did this today!! There is a $3 off Charmin (it says MEGA, but it works on the 24 BIG roll packs too), and a $3 off any bounty 12pk coupon on the P&G saver e-coupon site. I also had a 25 cent off coupon for bounty, which they doubled. So, you can get $3 off EACH PACK if you get one Charmin, and one Bounty!! Plus, I did get the Catalina for $10!!

I also bought a tube of Crest Pro Health. There was a in ad coupon for it to cost $2.50, Then, I used the P&G E-coupon for $1, and a coupon from last weeks paper for $1 off. So, I got a 6 oz tube for 50 cents also!!

Can you do this deal a few times or is it limited to only a certain number per card?

  6. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 12:11 AM

You can do it as many times as you want. Just be courteous that others might also want to take part in this deal as well 🙂

I am stressing about this deal, totally want to do it, but I’m having problems getting the coupons too! It just says no coupons available at this time (like others have posted) any clue how to access these *HOT* coupons!

  8. Sheila says

    03/02/2010 at 1:25 AM

Ok ladies that couldn’t figure it out, here’s what I did…

I thought that I had for sure already registered my Safeway card on P&G, but I guess I hadn’t. SO, I put my card number in, registered it, and then went to the coupons and BAM! there they all were!!! So try that and hopefully it will work for you too! GOOD LUCK!

  9. kelly says

    03/02/2010 at 5:18 AM

I know different areas receive different ads, but my ad says through 3/6 for this deal. Or am I just reading it wrong?…the cover does say 3 days only!

  10. NicoleC says

    03/02/2010 at 7:54 AM

Do the P&G Ecoupons only works once?

  11. Carolyn says

    03/02/2010 at 8:02 AM

I also had trouble getting access to the P&G ecoupons, but then I registered my Safeway Club card and it then it worked.

  12. Sue says

    03/02/2010 at 9:16 AM

Can you use the P&G ecoupons multiple times?

  13. Annie says

    03/02/2010 at 9:24 AM

Can we use the catalina for $10 on any safeway purchase or it has to be P&G items?

  14. Sheryl says

    03/02/2010 at 9:27 AM

It also says there are no P&G coupons avaiable for my use. I know I have never used any.

  15. janelle says

    03/02/2010 at 9:28 AM

    zip code for p&g?

  16. Nicole A says

    03/02/2010 at 9:33 AM

No $3 coupon for me either comes up 🙁 Is this deal only at Safeway? We have no safeway sadly, just Kroger.

  17. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:04 AM

Annie it should be for anything you want to buy.

  18. Jennifer P says

    03/02/2010 at 10:05 AM

I hope this works in CO!! Are there any Charmin coupons out??

  19. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:05 AM

No same as Cellfire- one time only.

  20. Susan says

    03/02/2010 at 10:06 AM

I just added the $3 ecoupons this morning. Page says, “*Your coupons will not post to your account until 24 hours after they are redeemed. Coupons must be redeemed from card to add more.
All coupon values reflect exact discount at register. Regardless of normal store processes, coupons will not double.” Does that mean I can’t use those ecoupons until tomorrow? OR does it mean that I can use them today, but it won’t show that I used them until tomorrow?

  21. Katie says

    03/02/2010 at 10:11 AM

Wow this is awesome! I’m going to do the Frozen Foods deal, then use that Catalina for the TP/PPTowels. I happen to be running out of both, so this is a lifesaver! Thanks!

I just wanted to let you know that I got in on the facebook BOGO + milk with Nabisco cookies last night. I took the coupon to Safeway to get the free box of HBO. Here’s what I did:

    Buy one milk @ 2.99
    Buy 2 Oreos @2/$5
Buy one Honey Bunches of Oats @ $2.00

    Use Blinkie $2.00 off HBO
Use Buy one milk and Nabisco cookies, get one cookie free
(this coupon took $3.99 off, not $2.50. Not sure how much it would take off for other cookies)

Total; $4.00 for all four items. I was SOOOO excited! I just wanted to let you know in case people are wondering if there’s a good deal out there to use those quickly expiring coupons!

  22. teresa says

    03/02/2010 at 10:11 AM

Does the ecoupon add automatically or do you have to wait 24 hours?

  23. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:14 AM

I think it is almost instant. Cellfire and Shortcuts usually say 1 hr or so.

  24. DESY says

    03/02/2010 at 10:16 AM

Should I buy something else other than the 2 big packs of Charmin to have the 10 $ catalina back?

  25. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:19 AM

Jennifer I posted the coupons in the scenario.

  26. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:20 AM

Susan I am reading that to mean they won’t come off your P&G account. I am not sure that means you can’t use them in store for 24 hrs.

  27. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:21 AM

Nicole I don’t think it is running at Kroger.

  28. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:21 AM

No. You can just buy that or whatever you want.

  29. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:24 AM

I believe it is the P&G promo that ends today. Remember the deal is only a good one because there are 2 overlapping promotions.

  30. Sheryl says

    03/02/2010 at 10:28 AM

Thanks! Now that I added by VONS card to the account, the coupons showed up.

  31. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 10:31 AM

Ok Sheila, I am glad you got to the bottom of that. I have to tell you I am trying not to laugh that you are stressing out over toliet paper coupons. This is a little funny. I hope these coupons work for everyone or I can see I am going to have a very angry mob 😉

  32. Heather says

    03/02/2010 at 11:11 AM

Just did the TP deal. PG&E internet coupons did not work. Website said they were loaded to my card but did not trigger at check out. I loaded them this morning at 9:00 am and hit Safeway at 9:30. 🙁

  33. teresa says

    03/02/2010 at 11:12 AM

FYI-The P&G website says under FAQ that it can take up to 1 hour to add coupons to your card .

  34. Heather says

    03/02/2010 at 11:22 AM

Oh that stinks 🙂 I wonder if I went back to Safeway they could credit me those coupons… anyone ever try that?

  35. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 11:34 AM

I would think you’d have better luck just returning the TP and then buying it again. Just tell them your coupons didn’t work 🙂 You will look like a nutter but who cares. $6 is 2 lattes for me!

  36. Jenn says

    03/02/2010 at 11:41 AM

Just wondering b/c I have never used these e-coupons. You said you can do this as many times as you want per card but do you have to reload the coupons after each use or can I do this a couple of times in one shopping trip?

  37. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 11:52 AM

No you can roll the catalina so don’t get confused. The e-coupons (from any company not just P&G) are just one. That is it- you can not get another one until they reset at the start of the month or unless you register a new club card.

The $10 catalina you can roll so buy 2 get the cat, use the cat to buy 2 more and get another cat, and so on and so on.

  38. Jenn says

    03/02/2010 at 12:09 PM

Thanks for the clarification! I understand. 🙂

  39. Amy says

    03/02/2010 at 1:53 PM

There is also an in ad coupon for Pampers for $7.99. I have a $2.00 off coupon, plus there is a $2.50 ecoupon for the P & G. Another great deal. Going to try for all three after work.

  40. Carla Magee says

    03/02/2010 at 1:56 PM

Is the CAT only good for Bounty and Charmin or for all the P&G products?

  41. April says

    03/02/2010 at 2:00 PM

I went to do this just a little bit ago. She said that my catalina wouldn’t print since I didn’t meet the $25 since both rang up as $9.99. Maybe she didn’t know what she was talking about? If she cancelled my transaction do you think I still have my P&G coupon still on my account?

  42. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 2:01 PM

Yes I think it will be there. Just call catalina if it didn’t print. They can mail it to you.

  43. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 2:03 PM

I think I answered this already but it is good on anything EXCEPT the normal lottery ticket, tobacco and alcohol exclusions plus it says not intended to be used on Proctor and Gamble items. So buy beef, bread, cheese whatever you want.

  44. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 2:06 PM

Amy that is a good deal however I just want to clarify the Pampers are not included in the catalina offer.

  45. Natalie says

    03/02/2010 at 2:07 PM

    My e-coupons didn’t work either 🙁 I loaded them @ 9am and shopped @ 1230.

  46. Natalie says

    03/02/2010 at 2:08 PM

But I did get the Catalina. I bought a Charmin and a Bounty.

  47. Amanda says

    03/02/2010 at 3:12 PM

    My e-coupons didn’t work either loaded at 10 a.m. shopped at 1 p.m. Still a great deal.

  48. Allison Nelson says

    03/02/2010 at 4:33 PM

My ecoupons also didn’t work (on the website it said they were being validated by the retailer…you should get an email when they are loaded and ready to be redeemed–per the website, not personal experience.) Anyway, the catalina also didn’t print. So, I returned everything and was frustrated. I called P&G and they said they had a back-up and a glitch. The glitch is fixed, and they’re hoping to catch up–probably an overload due to this deal. When I told them the deal I wanted to use the coupons for was ending today, they said to keep the receipt and they would reimburse. Not sure it is worth the bother, but I may try at my walkable Pavilions tonight if it says they are ready to be redeemed. Maybe the catalina machine was out of paper…I’ll try another checkstand. I also see that you can call on that as well, per another comment. Hope this helps–I’m sure many of you ran into this problem.

  49. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 5:52 PM

Alison just go to Safeway.com and look for your local ad. You should see 2 ads one that is smaller in size. That is the one that showed the Buy 2 and get them for $9.99.

  50. Heather says

    03/02/2010 at 5:58 PM

My e-coupons didn’t work either…..so I didn’t do it. I am going to look later to see if they are done “being validated by the retailer” so I can do this……I’m not desperate enough for TP and paper towels to pay much 🙂
