Just a reminder of the deal I told you about on Friday.  The best price I have seen so far on Easter candy is at CVS but it is only available Sunday- Tuesday.

Buy 6 bags of Hershey’s candy for $1.97 = $11.82
Use (2) $2/3 coupons HERE
Final Price: $7.82 PLUS get a $3 ECB for spending $10 on Easter Candy!
That is like paying .80 per bag!!

For those of us in Nor CA- I don’t think we got this sale. So another option would be to head over to Toys R Us where candy is $1.99. Buy 3 bags and use a $2/3 coupon and pay $3.98 for 3 bags.

Thanks for this post! – I’ve been trying to compare the prices myself, so this answers my question… I’ve only been following for a little while, so sorry if you already do this – but this would be a great idea to do regularly – it seems like there are often sales of the same items at multiple drug stores at the same time, so it would be great if you posted the best deal of the week. Thanks again! I’m such a huge fan of your blog =)

Rite Aid has it for $1.88/bag this week. There was an in-ad coupon form last week that doesn’t expire until 4/4 – $2/3 – you can use it with a $2/3 from insert or printable.

    $1.88 x 3 = $5.67
    – $2/3 Rite Aid
    – $2/3 manufacture’s
    = $1.65 or 55 cents each

This sale is included in my ad in Modesto!! Page 4 in the middle/bottom!

Kelli that in ad coupon was actually a MQ so you can’t stack them. Just look at the bar code and you can see the difference from other in ad coupons.

I actually called Rite Aid customer service about this and they told me that the in-ad coupons are store coupons and can be stacked with another coupon. I guess that some stores may not allow it. my store did.

Kelli 99% of the time that is totally the case. That specific coupon is different from other Rite Aid in ad coupons so I don’t think it will work for the majority of people. But thanks for passing along the information.

I’m in norcal and the bags are on sale, but no ECB printed for me (I bought 6 bags). I’m still happy about $1.30 a bag though.

I asked specifically about the candy coupon. maybe the misunderstood or wasn’t aware that it was different. the person that I spoke to said that any in ad coupon can be stacked with a manufacturers coupon.

I found this posted on another website

“Only one manufacturer coupon is accepted for each product, unless coupled with another manufacturer coupon found in a Rite Aid circular.” – found in the Rite Aid – Coupon Acceptance Letter

Kelli that is from the Rite Aid coupon policy which is located at the top of my blog under Drugstore 101 and you are right EXCEPT in this case. That specific coupon is very clearly a manufacturer coupon- it has a redemption on it and a barcode that will go to a clearing house. 99% of the coupons that are in ad look nothing like that one. So we are going to have to agree to disagree that for that specific coupon it is an exception to the rule and it can not be stacked. I can not recommend people do something that I know to be wrong and clearly the person you spoke to at Rite Aid was not looking at the ad to see the difference.

You can see Shannon’s post about this topic here as well. The in ad coupons are clearly very different and I am sure if you compare that coupon to the actual printable manufacturer coupon you will see they are virtually identical.

I’m really not trying to argue or be difficult. I called Rite Aid again yesterday and they said basically the same thing that I posted. I asked again stating that the coupon is different then others in the ad. I told the person that it doesn’t have a RA bar code, it has a regular coupon bar code. The customer service person said in-ad coupons can be stacked. I definitely don’t want my RA to lose money because I’m using coupons wrong, partly because it’s the only store in my area but also because I just don’t want them losing money…

Kelli I think we will just have to agree to disagree and let it go at that. I am glad you got a helpful person at Rite Aid but I am very very certain on this point. I am sure the person just considered the general policy and did not actually open the ad and look at the coupon. If you just look at the coupon you can see immediately it is different and it says very clearly redeemed by the manufacturer. I can tell you are very determined here so I am not going to try and convince you otherwise but I can’t recommend to others that they do something that I know is wrong. Sorry but I can’t.

don’t a lot of cvs coupons have redemption information on them? maybe I’m wrong. btw, my cashier actually suggested that I use the second coupon at rite aid. he might have been misinformed as well. idk

Ella this is a totally different deal- it is for Rite Aid not CVS. You CAN use a second coupon at Rite Aid the vast majority of the time. The discussion we are having is in regards to one very specific coupon that can not be stacked. It is a very rare exception to the rule.
